Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Why Does Galactic Win

It has bad machups, ive seen it. Does bad against plox because of powerlock and ohko weakness. if they send out their dialga its teleportfor gallade "Bam!"

Everything has bad machups
Wrong, there are galatic decks that would sweep the floor with modern age plox. A good Galatic deck simply has no bad match-ups and that is what makes it so good.

G is good, but there some decks, which can beat them easily:

Ttar:

Resistance + high hp+ good damage

Magnezone:

you think its a joke, but i test it against magnezone and i lost. resistance + special metal= no damage-.-. dialga g doesnt help much, if magnezone plays palkia.

Elective Lv.x

stadiums means no damage for one turn for electivire. electivire combinied with magnezone or luxray beat them G decks easily

against mirror it depends on your build. if you play the psychic sp pokemon, you will lose to dialga and bronzong.

I holland it doens't win
Here still machamp wins
and Gengar does win too
It's called pitch dark pitch dark
The galactic decks can;t play there trainers and then it's goodbey good old Toxicroak
Ow and let Weavile take out gengar
50 - 50 percent chance it will take it with him
and then a Pokemon called Azelf inplay lays down the energy gain
so that good galatic isn't

do not EVER tech against it. Yours techs will backfire. The key to beating it is a good dusky or gengar deck. They can snipe slungank and hit croak heavily...

Everyone is saying that its worst matchup is itself, that matchup being 50-50 this is just proving what i said earlier that all its matchups are 50-50 or better

Post what Galactic deck you're running, and I can name a bad matchup.

1 Bronzong G
3 Crobat G
1-1 Dialga G X
2 Honchkrow G
1 Houndoom G
3 Skuntank G
3 Toxicroak G
2 Weavile G

3 Cynthia's Feeling
4 Cyrus's Conspiracy
1 Lake Boundary
2 Looker's Investigation
2 Pokemon Rescue
4 Roseanne's Research
2 Snowpoint Temple
4 of each invention

2 Dark
4 Special Dark
5 Psychic Energy
2 Rainbow Energy

Throw up chump blockers with Dusknoir, then Night Spin you until you hardcast a three energy Weavile.

Tyranitar could work. You don't run PokeTurn so Kingdra as well.

wow that decklist is really bad sorry. a good sp will kill you in the mirror
A mirror=50-50 no matter how you put it, theres no tech against galactic honestly

I got lake boundry that means that weavile is a 1HKO on dusknoir. as for your second comment, please read before trying to create a bad matchup

Incorrect. Every card makes a difference - if one build is faster, it will have an advantage. If one deck focuses more on skuntank/toxicroak, it will have a tough time. There are tech cards for G decks out there - you just need to find them.

I had a mental lapse and thought Poketurn wasn't a TGI.

Yes, Weavile OHKOs Dusknoir if it hits. However, if I throw out chump blockers (Dialga G works especially well against Toxitank) and then slap you with Night Spin, there isn't much your list can do about it. Albeit, Night Spin is a 3HKO on Weavile. I suppose something would have to be done about that. Damage Even could work. It'd be tough if you got the set-up, however, since your list lacks legit draw power, that might be potential.

Tyranitar still tears through your list. Even with Poketurn, unless you get T1 Toxitank setup Kingdra could eat you alive.

Nonetheless Galactic is a hard deck to beat.

EDIT: Building your EXACT list and testing the matchups.

It depends on how you play Galactic really.
There's a more control/spread based version and then you have your standard toolbox version that almost everybody uses.
The Toolbox one is good, but it's very much beatable. The hardest thing is playing around Power Sprays. If they use Honchkrow and stock up on Power Sprays, then they can essentially stop you from setting up. BUT, usually they will run out of Sprays and you will be good to try to recover.

The control/spread based one is trickier to beat or tech against. You will be power locked close to every turn, so in order to play against it, you really have to get lucky with your drawing and try to set up as many of your Pokemon as you can. They will aim for your basics abusing the Crobat G+Honchkrow G sniping, and Palkia G can also do its fair share of damage. It's weakness is Looker's Investigation and cutting off their Uxie's or Palkia G Lv. X.

I'm not sure I answered the question, but bottom line is, Galactic decks have the most balanced combination of control and beatdown that we have seen since Plox, so naturally it will be a very attractive deck to play. It has its weaknesses but Power Spray is really kind of a broken trainer that CAN prevent setup completely. I've played a couple games where I Power Spray their Uxie drop and they just can't recover. THAT, I believe is what really makes Galactics good. They are just really good at stopping you from setting up, better than any other deck in this format.

Someone explain how dusknoir and gengar win when smart players dump their skuntanks and go with honchkrow/weavile instead, even then the free poison takes out down without you ever getting around to tricks like gengar's flip and dusknoir's power.
