Worlds invite

becuase you didn't seem to think it mattered when some players in the US could attend 3 to 4 times as many events as most...deal with it.

I was talking about marathons and how I wasn't pro or con them. This hypothetical situation is completly different.

Here is a list of the 2010 top 40, all of which received invites. I don't see Top-40 being any worse than T-25 with passdowns. I see it as better, you look at the list, your name is there, you have an invite, no guess work, no waiting.

Not like it really matters, but I was in the top 40 players for Masters last year so idk what this list is from...

Sorry folks, that is not the current info. We will have the real deal up soon.

Alright, two weeks later seems fair to me. I was going to start a thread about this, but this one is already here. Fall BRs and Cities have already passed and nobody even knows for sure where they stand regarding a Worlds invite. Given the past couple seasons' lack of significant changes to the worlds invites, I think I am definitely right in saying that something should have been given to us by now regarding this subject. Not just vague "it will probably be the same as last year" or "we will have it up real soon" comments over the course of months. I really believe that there will be little to no changes over the course of this season (and that has been the case, so far). If that is true, then why is it taking so long to announce the Worlds invite structure? If it is going to be near the same (like was posted months ago) then it really shouldn't take long to type/c/p up a 1-2 page FAQ sheet on the main site, or at least correct the past ones. Right? I'm sure people will be "offended" by this post as usual, but I think I am being way more than fair this season regarding my criticism.

I'm sure it seems very fair indeed. :thumb:

I assure you that no one has been twiddling their thumbs over this info.
The Worlds FAQ went live last week and the invite info should be live sometime this week if that helps.

Why not make Canada/Mexico and US seperate, give CDN/MX top 10 and USA top 35-40.

While I don't know about that exact distribution, the idea of separating the US from Canada/Mexico seems more than fair. It's also desirable, since Americans have less complications getting to the event than Mexicans or Canadians.

Found the FAQ by using the search button... failed to find it by browsing :(

Worlds 2011 is to be MD-On (info subject to change)

1) From the Trading Card Game tab on the main page select PLAY! Pokémon option from the drop down.
2) On the flash presentation telling you to choose a path to victory, choose the left hand option.(Trading Card Game Championship Series)
3) Scroll to World Championship info and click the logo.
4) Click link to "2011 World Championships Frequently Asked Questions"

In short: The search function was the better way to go. :)

Imo you should create a mobile/simple version of the site for those who does not want to deal with flash games and all those crap... There is a great number of people only use the site for tournament locator, rating search, profile upgrades and orders, tournament history, event faqs, news (op, vg, anime etc) ... So yeah i know i am sll in for a non flash version which i can browse comfortably from iphone but right now uuuuugh

Idk I just made t32 once but basically, t32 was the goal, I wanted the ds and everything beyond that wouldve been cool but ...
The ds was a great prize and fitting for a t32 place at worlds. It was something cool, something very special and rare and a great way to remember the tournament whenever you use it. I didnt care about the display at all, especially with the laatest sets.

T32 should be something special and the special prize for this special place should stay, who wants more cards after making t32, custom items like the ds would make making t32 soo much more worth it. I was absolutly thrilled about making t32 last year because the ds was the prize, something Id use for years to come and hold precious, a display is just boring (and most of them got used for either booster drafting out of boredom or went straight to ebay, honestly) :/

Idk how much the ds were in production with the custom design and stuff but I thik its pretty sad to see them gone, items like this will always be way cooler then displays :(

While not necessarily in agreement on the sentiment that these games are "crap" (my score on Turtwig Target Smash is too high to suggest otherwise), I definitely feel that the main site needs a bare-bones version.

While its on topic Biggie.....

is there any chance at Mexico/Canada being seperated from the US for raiting invites?

I would absolutely love a simplified version of the main site (with just a log-in, a link to your player profile, forums, and rankings).

And although I know it's not going to happen, an iPhone app just for rankings and rating history would be amazing.

But if you don't make your desires known, there is next to no chance they'll get fulfilled.

I don't even have a smart phone and I wish these things existed so I could walk parents through the site when they show up to league.
