Very true! JR is the man at the commentating table. Yeah I agree. I was very impressed of how Cole handled himself and the company during that time

Oh 100% that's the only reason he's still with the company. When go to India they sell out because of him. They are trying to turn Del Rio into a Rey Mysterio for South America. That's why he's received such a huge push a face. Sin Cara sure hasn't turned out to well.

I'm not sure if I hate JBL, I hate Matthews, or I hate that team. Matthews is awful, but JBL really needs to stop the Heel act. And both of them contradict themselves constantly. It's to the point where I almost want to watch SD on mute. As far as King? He does the Color Commentator bit better than most actual sports Color people. When he was with JR, they were spectacular together. Then again, JR is just about the most knowledgeable person IN THE WORLD about professional wrestling.

About the only 2 ppl that MIGHT know more about wrestling than JR are VKM and Paul Heyman.

They couldn't find any other person from India to push? Not even Jinder Mahal? If Jinder got a push, I think ppl would turn out for him far more than Kahli.

I dig JBL as a heel but he's more heelish with Matthews around. I swear Josh has to be the worst commentator since Mike Adamle. King is really bad. The only reason he was better with JR is because JR makes everyone better.

Watching Mahal for a few years now I just can't see him as a face. Khali gets over because he's so big which probably excites the Indian crowds.
 
I'm not talking about Jinder as a face. I'm talking about Jinder getting some air play other than the stupid to the point of indifference 3MB.

I was thinking about Ziggler/AJ(I mean.. Ziggler was in there somewhere haha), and it has to be painfully obvious he will cash in at WM. If he doesn't... what the hell was the point of him having the case so long? I could see them going a few ways... I will go from most unlikely to duh it's WWE.

1. After Cena beats Rock, Ziggler comes out to cash in... beats down Cena... ref says can't use on WWE... Vickie (or Maddox?) comes out and says she "traded" for Ziggler... BOOM.. New WWE Champion. [I know this won't happen... but.. it'd be cool.. Rock lets Cena get beat while looking on.. cool stuff like that haha]

2. Swagger wins, Ziggler cashes in --- Instant "face." [People cheer for him anyway]

3. Del Rio wins --- Ziggler cashes in... yep.

I also wonder if he will just face Y2J or they will mix him in... something at WM.
 
I think a 4th option could come into play...

Swagger wins, Ziggy cashes, triple threat at Extreme Rules which ADR wins, then Ziggy return match at whatever they're doing in Chicago. Ziggy et al remains Heel, Swagger gets his title for 30 seconds then goes away forever, and ADR keeps his face push.

BTW, the "brand extension" is effectively dead. I do kinda wish that they'd make Booker the WWE GM and just let Vicki go away.
 
You know there's been so many great opportunities for Ziggler to cash in already but nothing. Honestly I would be surprised if he cashed in. Although it would make sense for Swagger to win, Ziggs cashes in on Swag, rematch on Raw, Ziggs wins, Swag serves his 30 day suspension, feud between Ziggs and ADR.
 
I am thinking Ziggler will cash it in against Rock because Rock will go on extended leave starting mid-April due to shooting several films.

He can't cash in for the WWE Championship. Only the World Championship.

We all know that Cena will beat Rock at WM29. It's anybody's guess as to when Punk will take that title away from Cena again...

The only way Ziggs can cash in is if someone with high authority says the briefcase will work for either championship.

You say that, but I don't think Vince will know nearly as much as JR. He knows how to run a business and I often wonder if he knows how to do that anymore with the product they're producing at the moment (and the past 7/8 years). I think of Vince as more of a fan with a very strange taste in what he likes to see on the show.

As for Heyman, I agree but from listening to him speak about the business I still don't think he'd be on JR's level.

They both ran businesses, Vince still does, but that doesn't mean they have huge knowledge on it, look at Bischoff and Dixie Carter.

And thinking about JR, no one will ever beat his commentary, the Austin moments still give me goosebumps.
 
Well I think Punk was right when he said Vince is a millionare who could be a billionare. Smarter decisions can definitely be made. Huge improvemnets can be made to the Tag Team Division and the Diva's Division.
 
Such as, promoting them correctly? Not putting Singles competitors in Tag Team divisions? Actually training your women to be halfway decent wrestlers? PTP was pretty fun before they got rid of their promoter. Usos are just sitting there, doing nothing. What about those Mexicans who always seem to get good heat?

I remember the days of the Dudleys, E&C, and Hardys, who still put on probably the greatest Ladder match in the history of the WWE. And then made a BETTER one! What about the days of the Outlaws? Or the Road Warriors? Legendary tag teams that changed the face of the WWF in their day.

The women's/divas division has pretty much always been terrible. Even when Trish Stratus and Lita were heading up the division, there still wasn't much heat around it. And, when a spectacular story line drops into their laps, they simply do not do anything with it. Like, the Screwjob from a few months ago, NOTHING came of that!

Vince has some of the worst story people I've ever seen, and it's killing the company right now...
 
Early rumor for upcoming Wrestlemania is that WWE is strongly considering setting world record on most number of people doing Harlem Shake....sigh.....
 
They squandered a HUGE opportunity tonight. This is Old School RAW. Why not dust off Mean Gene Okerlund for the ring announcing duties? Why not have the Superstars come out to some of their older entrance music? Why let amazing personalities like Hacksaw, Slaughter, and Rhodes just sorta sit there not really doing anything? They could have done something amazing with RAW tonight, and they kinda squandered it. The tunes I wanted to see happen?

HHH -- "My Time" or one of the DX themes and have him come out with NAO before their match.
Big Show -- "Big"
Kane -- "Burned" (also, bust out the old school mask with no mouth hole, they've gotta have that one floating around the archives somewhere)
Randy Orton -- "Burn In My Light"
Mark Henry -- "Sexual Chocolate" for the lulz
John Cena -- "Basic Thuganomics"
Tensai -- Anything from when he was Albert for the lulz

I would call out Punk's old theme music, but really "Cult of Personality" fits him better than anything else. And Undertaker's themes are really so similar to each other (other than the ABA period) that it seems kinda pointless to call out one specifically. Maybe either "Ministry" or "Dark Side", just to recall probably the best storyline the WWE/F has ever produced.

Well you don't know if Mean Jean was even up to announcing the entire three hours. That's a long time! The entrance music would've been interesting but no need to get people confused. The less you see of Hacksaw the better. Those guys should be managers if they want to do something. I'm getting so so so tired of Flair and his weirdness.

The Ryder squash was disappointing.
Miz/Ziggler was good but I didn't like the result.
Cesaro/Ryback was good but I didn't like the result.
New Age Outlaws were fantastic!
Final match was decent. Glad Punk won!
The Tensai/Clay grouping is kind of creepy.
Honkytonk Man taking Slater out was epic!
 
Oh, you reminded me of one other thing that they goofed on. If you're going to bring out Flair, at least have him wear those robes again.

I'm not sure if NAO can still wrestle or if the Latinos pulled them up, but that was the most fun match of the night, if only because "Oh You Didn't Know?"

I hate squash matches. Most of them don't really serve a purpose. Especially when they pull out career developmental guys like Ryder and guys that don't even have entrance music.

As far as the FFW match, that honestly should have been a tournament, and Shield should have intervened in all 3 of the matches, giving Punk the win over Orton in the finals. Also, setting up the Sheamus/Orton/Show vs. Shield match they're really, really trying to set up.

At least use Mean Gene for more than just Mae Young's entrance lady. Ring Announcer for the FFW match, maybe? Or the NAO segment? It just felt like they didn't use him (or really any of the oldies other than NAO) as well as they could have.

I'd much rather not see Flair unless he's managing/helping Ziggler.

Sure looks like they can still wrestle. Shows how much Epico and Primo are underused.

Squash matches are terrible. Ryder deserves so much more.

During the main event I was sure that the Shield would get involved after we saw the promo. Anything with the Shield is gold right now.
