Beartic, Catcher shown, along with blister and tins.
In b4 large amounts of QQ'ing.
If you believe everything that is being said, NO deck will be playable, apart from possibly Zekrom.
Reshiram and Kyurem? Forget it. They'll be too slow because Emboar and Gatr will be destroyed by infinite theorymon Catchers EVERY TIME!
Stage 2 decks? Nope, their Basics will die before they evolve thanks to INFINITE THEORYMON CATCHER!
Stage 1s? You're joking me. Even if the Basics survive infinite theorymon Catcher, guess what? They can't use Candy so ARCHEOPS WILL STOP THEM FROM EVOLVING AT ALL!
So yeah . . . Zekrom.
(Apparently).
I think you're assuming that one person can set up so much more quickly than the other. Before Catcher can effectively be used a player has to be setup already. You're either assuming a player can be set up xX times faster than his/her opponent OR you're just forgetting how slow our current format really stepped down to being.
Aside from that, we do have trainer locks which are underrated.
Such garbage that they renamed it, and reworded it to basically say the same thing as Gust of wind, lol.. >.>
Zekrom can setup T1 and now can effectively choose what to kill each turn. Thundurus can setup consistenly T2 at which point (especially if going first) 80 will be still enough to kill anything on their board.
The point is that Catcher gives a huge advantage to fast decks. If you can setup before your opponent, you can mess with them enough that they never completes their setup. Which would be fine if we didnt have decks that can be setup consistently T1-2.
There is a reason that Haymaker dominated the format with Gust of Wind in it. The Candy errata is just the nail in the coffin for Stage 2 decks. This format basically becomes play Catcher or try and setup Vileplume before they can setup and use their Catchers. Im pretty sure which variant is more consistent.

espeon200: turn1 maximum damage in Base Set era: 60 (if you played 4 PlusPower). Average was 20-30.
Turn 1 maximum damage in BW era: 160.
A bit of a difference there.

Listen, if you hate a card that says "flip a coin if heads you win" so much and think it will destroy the meta, then ya'll are just pessimists and stop it. Yes, Donk decks will get a boost, along with all the other decks too! There is no rule sayin that only certain decks can use it, so please stop whining.
oh and P.S.- Vileplume FTW

See what I did there ?
Catcher is awful for this game, period. With the new rules about going first the opening coinflip will influence the game so much it makes me cry. Lolmirror? Im ahead yb default and can prevent you from ever getting anything up. Lol benchsitter tech? Good luck even trying to get it up. Lol 222 Lines? Get used to 423 Lines. Lolcleverstrategythatisntabout speed? Good luck ever setting that up.
I was so hoping we could finally return to the blessed delta days but instead well just return to the speedfest of last season once more. Who can kill more basics faster, exiting...
bah -.-
and good luck getting vileplum up with catcher around, With this card the concept of a bench is basically dead. And no the fact that it is an old card doesnt mean its good, would you want a reprint of old oak?
