Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Next rotation?

That would be a bad idea. With Dark Claw for dark types and Eviolite for everything else, remaking those cards would bring balance issues. We have basic dark and basic metal now so they are not needed. If they do reprint those, they would have to make special energy for all the other energy types.

I kinda just want it to be able to do 40+poison+sleep+confuse on sableye. XD

No joke. I just feel like it would be fun.

It would be nice to see no rotation. Ex era on would seem like a natural intuitive cut, but what would it really eliminate that NEEDS to go?

Rumors are saying DEX-on. this is supported by the fact that rotating DEX would mean no catcher, and without cather everything is ridiculously powerful.

DEX-on would not remove Catcher..,

I said if they rotated DEX, not rotated to DEX.

You said "DEX-On" Which means DEX and everything after. If you remove DEX than it would be
DRX-On.

Alann stated that the rumors were that the rotation would be to BW: Dark Explorers and later sets. He then justified this by pointing out that "rotating DEX" (which I understand as rotating "out" and not rotating "to") would remove Pokémon Catcher from the format, and it would.

He never overtly stated that rotating to BW: Dark Explorers and later sets would remove Pokémon Catcher, and taking that from the statement requires ignoring the context of the post, including argument he made.

Pretty sure we can't eliminate everything that needs to go with a cut; Pokémon really needs to dial back on the "early game" aggression. There is plenty to do in this game without making it so that an aggressive deck can run all Basic Pokémon (EX or otherwise) that are great at all points in the game, which frees up a massive amount of slots in the deck when compared with Pokémon that Evolve.

So a cut that clearly eliminated all cards, based on what we have right now, would have to eliminated everything from Black & White to BW: Plasma Storm as problem cards exist in all of these sets! I also doubt that whatever set(s) we get next based on the Japanese releases are going to help enough either.

If they did cut up to Dragons, it would get rid of Rare Candy as well.
So quite a few decks would suffer.

Rare Candy is being reprinted in Megalo-Cannon so we don't have to worry about that.

And does anyone else think the reprint of NVI Virizion might be a hint about the rotation? Since it looks like they want to keep it to help against Blastoise and Keldeo EX.

Was surprised Eelektrik wasn't one of the shinnies since they made another eel line. If they are bringing nearly every deck essential to have multiple decks being played, why leave out eels?

Cutting everything before Dragons.. would that be the end to Darkrai decks? For the most part?

Yes, I do see them cutting it pre-dragons, even though it would make the game very small and one-dimensional.

You can't put a Pokemon to Sleep then Confuse it, you can only Poison-Sleep or Poison-Confuse.

Hmm.. Catcher has been printed in the Blastoise theme deck. and since the theme deck has to stay to keep in Kyurem, DRX-on is probably whats going to happen. think about it, the exs in drx-on are relatively weaker than those before (tornadus, mewtwo, darkrai) while the better ones of today require more support or cant really function as their "own" deck
Can work alone (darkrailasers, mewtwo/tornadus)
Needs more stuff(Rayquaza [loses eels].Landorus[slowish], Keldeo[blastoise], Genesect[virizion], Lugia[um..yeah])

I think rotating to DRX on shows the signs of wanting to slow down the game. Even in Megalo Cannon the lower damage might give us a look into the future.

I really would like the game to slow down.

I really think people who believe the game will slow down are not remembering that hard hitting, fast attacks can come from more than just a good damage-to-Energy ratio. If a card has access to good Energy acceleration, it can be fast and hard hitting while actually having overpriced attacks.

I agree, I'd love DRX on, mainly because everything we'd need has already or is getting a reprint from previous sets before DRX. IF the Shiny Collection is printed in NA it'll bring Shaymin EX back, which there is plenty of time before now and rotation to do it, plus the cards in that set like Shaymin EX and Emolga (CFF) look amazing! It'd slow the game (which I love a game that actually takes some thought to win and getting OHKO'd before the game starts sucks). I don't think it'd slow it down too much but it'd slow it down enough to make it more enjoyable by far. When it comes down to it in my opinion, the biggest reason I play this is I enjoy it and brings back good memories, having it to fast paced is ruining it though at the moment..

Even if it's DrX-on, we may still have Darkrai EX and Mewtwo EX due to them being in tins with Rayquaza EX. The only thing it would kill is dark decks cause Dark essential items will have rotated. Mewtwo could still remain, keeping things pretty much the same minus few deck varieties. I say keep it as is, BW-on. Right now we have variant deck choices available to use, but if everyone uses one deck, everyone will counter the next week with the other. It's Rock-Paper-Scissors, but with more choices.

Well hopefully I can get rid of these Darkrai before its value drops when rotation does happen and it's key cards are suddenly gone.

I feel very confident in saying that if DEX rotates, so will the Mewtwo EX and Darkrai EX promos. They would likely rotate right up to Darkrai, with the Rayquaza EX promo being the first legal promo after rotation.

As much as I hate catcher, I think DRX on would be a complete disaster, blastoise with no catcher around? No thanks..

Hey, did you know they're reprinting Rare Candy, Cover Fossil, Plume Fossil and Pokemon Catcher, Dce, Juniper, Cheren, Ultra Ball, Random Receiver and energy retrieval. So they're probably going to do DRX-on, so bye-bye Rayeels and Darkrai decks, bye-bye Tropical Beach, Mewtwo Ex, Shaymin Ex, Tornadus Ex and Energy Switch.

There's no confirmation that they're reprinting some of those in English - particularly Catcher, DCE and Energy Retrieval. They were just in the Blastoise/Kyurem Japanese deck, but they didn't have new artwork or anything special that would cause TPCi to reprint them.

Juniper and Ultra Ball should be in Plasma Freeze as a FA/shiny, respectively. Rare Candy, Cover Fossil and Plume Fossil we should see in our August set. Cheren and Random Receiver were just reprinted in the last two sets.

So you're saying they'll rotate out 50 promo cards and leave us with BWP51 and up? Now that's one rotation prediction that I can never see happening.
