i'm all for the change... i remember being a teen and having limited funds and card supply vs th 21-22 year old with an unlimited amount of funds...now on worlds level there is no difference, but in all those local events that determine rank...which determine where you are in the swiss come city, states, or regionals, it will make a big difference.... plus a 12- division will ensure that there is good play in that division...have you see some of the 10 and under games???? horrible mostly kids with their older brothers, or parents t1 deck, and they win because the other kid doesnt have a t1 deck or because the other kid just brought his Theme Deck 5 mins before the tourney...plus most kids in the 11-14 play 15+ anyway so why not just incorperate them in the division? because their play in the 15+ leauge always effects 15+ standings god knows that ive won and lost to a 14 year old steppin up...but when they lose to me...does it even count aginst them?

Its more than just a new 13-17 age group , I've heard rumors/suggestions/something like that of changing the age divisions to the following:

12-
13-17
18+

I'm all for this if its actually being considered. I think its 1337 :thumb:

I think this is probably the right thing to do.

Here's my take, if they want to change the age divisions fine, but create
a 9 - , 10 to 13, 14 to 17 and ADULT. This will allow groups to play in a
competitive bracket rather than an age dominated bracket.

But my dusclops ex was about to beat the little kids by mnaking them cry and want their mommies! Dangit! I'd like that shift, though, I'd be out of the highets age bracket! But, think about this, there are rumors that if this happens, they will only let the 18+ be professors, and they would revoke all below that with no compensation.

This is so wierd. I was thinking today when I was mowing the lawn that it would be cool if the older teens had their own division since the 11-14 has always been a wierd age range. This looks like it just might work out. This will diversify for the better for the most part. It should also increase attendance in the new 12-under.

Hmmm, I'm not so sure that would happen, Shiloh Pheonix. Some of the teenagers are a real asset to the game. It's a little harder for them to find organizers who are willing to use them as judges, and all, but for the most part, I think they would only get rid of those who are doing nothing as a professor. If you aren't being used now, and can find no way to be used in the future, then it's probably best to be dropped from the program. On the other hand 18 year olds can be used much more extensively, including starting up their own league. Although it would be a shame, I can see where this would appeal to POP.

I guarantee that 12 and under would definitely be the biggest group for me.

I don't think 18+ should have to be professors...

I'll be 18 and still be in high school... it's not like im an adult as soon as i hit 18 >_>

What about 18-24 and 25+?

I mean the 18, 19, and early twenties people are still basically in the same range, while the older people have that age old wisdom ;)

Just my 2cents :)

I also think there should be an "I am over thirty and my kids are playing in the event also" division.

If any adult without kids wants to play vs teens thats their own problem

There were actually hints that 15-17 professors would be dropped from the professor program and it would be only 18+ to be a professor. And I think it's alot better that way.

uh. no it wouldn't?
my league store owner refuses to be a professor (please dont ask me why. i really don't understand him...) and i am the only professor there.

Well this is only my opinion here. But I think it would because as of now it is extremely unfair for 15-17 year olds that worked hard to pass that test, but can't do anything with it because the PTO's and TO's in their area refuse to use them as judges, and about the only thing they can do is judge. In my opinion this makes it much more fair for everyone.
