Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

13-17 age division???

I agree that the age divisions right now are kind of wierd.

I am 15 and playing 40 year olds is somewhat odd. Not that I can't handle them, I just don't like to. The new divisions sound cool, but If I had my proffesorship revoked, I would consider quitting pokemon. I worked very hard to pass the test and have just begun to start judging. Having it revoked would be absurd.

I say keep the 15+ proffesor rule.

Just my 2 cents

Quiting a game over something as simple as that? Now that's absurd. In these cases, PUI have to consider EVERYONE, not just a few people. In the larger picture it doesn't matter that you got the opportunity to judge finally. It's still a fact that not many others get that chance, And it is still unfair that 18+ professors can do more and get more points. Think about that. You can only write articles and judge tournaments. An 18+ professor can run leagues, run tournaments, etc. A whole lot more. Don't you find that a little unfair?

I dont believe they will change what is here now, but i think they should change and add the following

10 -
11-14
15-20
21+

I demand an age 45+ group!

Just fwiw the average age of the competitive Magic player is falling I'm told its now under 16. hearsay true. but beware that jiggling the age groups doesn't abandon the games target market.

Isnt it fair that beyond the age of 30 you should be able to play against the -10's due to senile dementia kicking in?

For the Professor Program, if/when they change the age groups, they'll probably stop allowing the 15-17 take the test for the first time, but allow those who are already Professors to stay on and retake the test every year until they do not pass it. At that point, they'll have to wait until 18 to apply again.

This is probably the most fair way to handle the Prof Program if they insist on making it an 18+ program.

What about when the 10- are too tough for the 40+ crowd? Ooops, there goes that senile dementia kicking in again!

It will be awesome, you know, I will be 14 on May 30. =P Last year in 11-14, OHHHHH.
I heard that one country has Nationals 12- and 13+ age groups.

Quitting a game over that isnt really that 'absurd'. I studied the card rulings in the compedium for almost 3 weeks. Anybody can judge so long as they ASK. I had been a professor for 3-4 months and nobody had approached me about it, so I e-mailed a TO and he was going to let me judge regionals, when i had never judged before. The fact is they dont know you're a professor unless you put yourself out there and let them know.

Yes 18's can do all that stuff, but they are legally an adult. At 18 you can do alot of things you couldnt do as 15, so why should i feel any different from things in the 'real world'.

I agree that professor's who are already a professor should keep it. Even if we fail the test it isnt fair to not let us take it again.

18+ Professor's are viewed as adults. It's a legal issue as to why 17- can't host tournaments. As for running a league, I'm only 17 and I own one  Why can't you run one?

That's right. We had 12- and 13+ at the Norwegian Nationals 2005. This wasn't the first time though, we had 12- & 13+ at the Norwegian Nationals 2003 as well. I think this split works very well, as it nicely seperates the children from teenagers/adults.

How did it do? Did any one complain about it? Did everyone like it? Did it look like everyone was playing fair games in their divisions?

Eh. I think this sounds wonderful, actually. The only people who can beat me are younger than me-and I'm eighteen. All the adults/older kids in my area really aren't that great, so I could win pretty often.

I hope they do it. Yay for selfishness.

Actually I was refering that to someone else. I am 19, turning 20 in July. I'm only trying to point out that it would make it more fair on everyone if the prof program went 18+ only, which I hear is what's going to happen. I don't know what they're going to do about the already current 15-17 professors though. I own a league myself. Well 2 technically, because I run Game Matrix on Wednesdays for Terry and he's constantly saying it's my league, even though he owns it. I don't really know. All I know is that I run it. LOL. I am also a TO. You should look more closely at my sig.

He said he wouldn't name who he heard it from! And I don't think it is supposed to be the day after worlds just sometime shortly after worlds. It'll probably be announced at worlds along with the rotation (I'm guessing).
