I think you're kinda overexeggarating here boy. He thanks Jesus. Okay. Good for him that he does that. You read that. Now you know "Ah, so he's religious and thus thanks Jesus". How is that bad? I don't see it.
Let him express his beliefs, he's not saying anything like "You should convert too, then you'll win". If he did that then I'd see your point, but he's not.

Now it might be best to drop this situation, I'd hate to hijack the champion's thread like this. Sorry.

There's nothing I like more than a good old fashioned and calm discussion of the bible, and religion. However, I doubt that is very productive on the current subject. If however you'd like to discuss this in the Random Topic forum, I'll gladly join in - to a point. In other words, unless you'd like to have this subject locked, let's quit this part of the discussion in this thread.

Congratulations Steve,

I think it's the first time ever that worlds has been won by a player who is the ONLY player using that specific deck in the entire tournament. That took some major creativity to put those 2 cards together IMO and you deserve mad props for perfecting and testing it. Thats so funny that your round 3 game came down to that string shot flip, which i guess was a $7500 coinflip :p but sometimes these things are just destined to happen and your hard work got rewarded

Way to go man, really impressed with your win
 
Way to go and I commend you for thanking the lord for his blessings and not being afraid to show your faith.
 
^ I second that. I remember reading the standings online and thinking you were out when you went 1-2, so even making the cut at that point is a big achievement, but to actually to win Worlds with a 1-2 start is absolutely amazing, way to go Steve.

congratulations on predicting the metagame with a very efficient deck that is just downright relentless in dealing 90 damage per turn to whatever target you need to hit to keep the opponent off balance or just out of the match. Did anyone play fire?

Looking at the smiles on the faces it wasn't easy to see if Steve or John had won. Great job to both of you. :)

For the love of the game;I couldn't be more proud of you bro. I'm glad I was there to see it for myself,takes a huge amount of heart to come back from 1-2 and win out in any event;you did it to become World Champion,that's epic.

Congradulations man. Beedrill was such an Underated Deck and to
take it and combine it with the Best Card in the Game and then to win
with it says something. I enjoyed reading the Azelf Trick Part and
the Fatal String Shot in your report btw, very hilarious and I couldn't
even begin to imagine the looks on your opponents faces after the
Coin Flip and Misplayed Power Spray.

It was nice to finally put a face to the person i've talked to alot.

Congrats Again.

Thanks man. I still stand by what I said about normal beedrill. It's terrible games are palkia variants and well, I fixed that :thumb:

Just let it go. Resentment is part of it, there is always going to be someone out there who doesn't think I deserve it. No point in feeding the troll.
 
Great job Steve! What an impressive list. I guess Beedrill isn't exactly rogue, but your list is certainly a well polished, well teched deck that no one else had anything close to. There was basically no taking any standards of lists to make yours clearly, your deck is solely your piece of work. That makes your win all that more impressive. Great deck and great win.
 
I know I am not one of your favorite people, but CONGRATS!! That flutterwings-azelf play was amazing. You should be a professional poker player with that bluffing ability :D

I agree with you 100%. I'm proud of Stephen for standing up for what he believes in. My son and I look up to steve and John. They have always been very kind and helpful to us. I have played against them and been a Judge in tournaments they have played in. They are honest and outstanding players. No one I know has spent more money, time and or had the dedication to the game that this family has had.People need to get over themselves and give the respect he deserves. Taking cheap shots at someone just show how shallow someone is. Please ignor them and enjoy your victory, YOU REALLY DESERVE IT!!!
