Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Fan Fiction contest - Completed

Pikamaster is looking quite disgruntled; the deadline is today and he still has to write something. Quickly he thinks up an idea and starts to type, not caring about small details. He just wants to get an entry in, and nothing, not even business IRL is going to stop him. He hopes.

Pikamaster is on the screen again, he is wondering where the stories are, his included. However, he doesn't mind their absence all too much, so he will wait. They had just better be up soon...

Procrastination FTL. Sorry for the delay, guys, but all the entries are up now. The deadline for voting is July 1st, 12 am, due to Nationals. If that's too long/too short, now is the time to complain.

If there are more rounds after this, it looks like I'll have to withdraw from the contest unless the next round has a really late deadline, since starting on the 26th, I won't have access to the Internet for three weeks. At least it was fun while it lasted. Also, since nobody's getting eliminated this round, is there still a vote for worst?

I can extend the deadline for that.:thumb: I had already planned on it, actually, since I'll be on vacation most of that time as well.

No, there is no vote for worst.

Although, you're allowed (and encouraged) to send comments on any entries, even the ones you aren't voting for. I'll pass those on to the authors as well. Just make it clear what your actual vote is.

Could we get the rules/requirements for voting/entries put into the first post? I realize that with only three entrants left, this won't be running too much longer, but it would make it easier on anyone who happened to be flipping through the thread looking for them.

I HAD written a story for this round, except "it didn't meet the requirements"....:tongue: Nah, that's my own fault. However, since it's short, I can post it here (it isn't big enough for a new thread...)

Crossed Wires

Running, panting, I couldn't stop. If I looked over my shoulder, I would slow down and it would catch me. Fire had burned away my tail, leaving a stump where is should have been, and claws had run down one side of my face, permanently shutting one eye. A fireball exploded onto a rock in front of me, causing me to swerve out of the way; they were still after me. And for what, a couple of berries weren't worth this. No, some Pokémon were cruel and loved to inflict pain, no matter what anyone says otherwise.

We were reaching the top of Mount Cornet now, and then it would all be over. Would it be better to jump off, or would it be better to turn and fight. Half blind and tail-less, it would be suicide to turn and fight, but the other option was too. Dashing out of the cave an onto the plateau, I ran into a young girl holding a deck of cards and sent her tumbling down from her place at top of the mountain; that would hurt when she landed, eliminate her from the competition of humans, so to speak.

Running into that girl had slowed me down, but I had to decide soon anyway. Deciding that I'd rather fight, I jumped onto a rock and re-bounded off of it, intent on sending an Iron Tail into the face of his attacker. However my attack fell far short due to my tail having been burned away, so I was only waving a glowing stump into the face of my attacker.

Gulping, I looked up into the face of his pursuer, knowing that death would shortly follow. But instead of death, I found myself being sucked into a giant pink diamond that had appeared a short distance behind him. I wasn't at all sure of what would be in that diamond, or what would be on the other side, but anywhere would be better than here. My attacker struggled to escape the pull of the diamond, which was good; if he came after me it would ruin my escape. There was a flash of pink light, a roar that sounded as though it was coming from everywhere at once, even from inside of me, and then there was nothing.

When I awoke, I found myself in a new world where nothing was what it seemed. For one thing, there was a maniac in red hopping onto innocent, green shelled Squirtles who seemed to be unable to shoot out water. And then, as if that wasn't enough, the same maniac was eating red and white mushrooms and growing bigger! After that, he confronted a green shelled Blastoise who didn't have cannons and spat fire, jumped onto a switch that destroyed the ground from under the turtle's feet and released what looked like a cross between a Jynx and a Blissey from a cage above him.

Well I wasn't going to stand for turtle abuse, not even from someone whose head was as big as my entire body. I noticed for the first time that there were white Gastlys floating around, apparently invisible to everyone else, but I didn't care. Curling myself into a ball, I launched myself at the maniac and the Jynx-Blissey creature, electrifying myself as I did so. Pleasure swept through me as they dropped into the abyss that the green Blastoise had after I hit them, they had deserved that. I was content as the pink diamond overtook me again, I wouldn't mind going back now, even if I would die. Before I was spit back out onto Mount Cornet, a voice spoke to me.

"Don't meddle in games that aren't yours, even if you were both created by the same company."

Oh my gosh, this is perfect! Even more perfect than the last round! I had started an entry back in February that was meant to be for round 2, but it never got its chance.:frown:

Ah, I was just coming on to ask when this would be put up. I will have sporadic internet access around that time, but not a complete lack, so I should be able to make that. I'm assuming that ilikegengar and I are now in the contest, even though that wasn't stated outright?

Now what in the world are peonies... *goes off to dictionary.com*

Cute, Pikamaster. Very cute!

Pikamaster looks up from an hour of typing. He is done his entry and only has to tweak it before he sends it in. Leaning back in his chair, he sighs in contentment. Life is good. Then he overbalances and falls onto the floor in a heap. His red cheeks seem to have expanded to cover his entire face, but he hides this as he gathers up the shattered remains of his dignity and quickly scampers off of the page.

Pikamaster walks onto the screen one more time, he has an announcement.

"I am done with my entry, I have sent it in."

Walking off of the stage, he give a little hop. He is happy with his entry.

EDIT.

"When are the entries going to be posted?" he asks.

17th? 17 days? I'll DIE!

These thoughts race through Pikamaster's head, the implication's clear. LucarioEX is trying to kill him, and she may have succeeded in doing so.

Pikamaster walks onto the page, happy that the attempt on his life has failed. He strokes his lightsabres and waits. He will practice control of the Force here, and his first attempt will be to make weak-minded humans to vote for his entry. But that will have to wait until next round as he is still waiting for the results of the current round to be posted and he does not know if he made it through. However, since the voting time expired, he will be posting his entry on another site and see how many he can bend to comment on how much they liked it.

Scurrying away, Pikamaster prepares to do his evil (not really) deed.

The winner of Round 4 is yellowfire7! Sadly, ilikegengar, you have been voted out this round. I'm very glad that you enjoyed the contest anyway, though.

Pikamaster comes onto the page and sighs; that was a close one...

*Note to self, when borrowing characters from other places, less background is needed*

He now eagerly awaits the final round where he gets to clash pens with a friend.

(Yes, I agree that the background was a mistake, I kinda meant to add more of Red's feelings into it, but that didn't happen...)

EDIT.

Pikamaster also has a request. "Can the word limit for this round be made higher by two thousand or so words? Since this is the last round, I think that it deserves something special since only two entries will be voted on."
