Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Game Over!

its a fun deck but wouldnt sps normally run over it. particularly luxchomp. with power spray and such. and if you seekered then time skipped then you risk wasting said seeker.

I actually haven't had all too much trouble against SP, even in my top cut match that I lost I would've won if he had flipped the double tails, and that was against Luxchomp. They'll run out of Poketurn faster than you run out of Palkia, especially since they'll have to start deciding between that and Power Spray. Attach rescue energy to Palkia, that works.

As for Mesprit locking, that's the one match that I lost. My hand was more than 30 cards big, I just couldn't do anything. It's the one problem that I've had so far. I agree with Waynegg, having a Mesprit or two would definitely help.

Wow! This deck looks like so much fun to play. ^^ I can just imagine the look on someones face when they realize what seemed to be random actually kills their luxchomp. Great article too. v^^

I may need to try this out at my league. If I can ever get people playing cards again. X3 lol.

Okay so my brother and I built this deck and made a couple of changes to it. Its 5-0 from our testing so far and thats been against Luxchomp and DialgaChomp. We ditched the Research Records because we were never using them and they didn't help. I can definitely agree in the G-Dos match you lose to Mesprit/Seeker chain. I'm going to try adding Mesprit and see how it works. Twice though we've beat our opponents on the last turn possible.

Well I like to set up my palkia G Lv.X first and I'm good at maintaining the bench size at three and still win...what I'm askin is Lost World a possible tech?

I had my brother use it, but people aren't stupid, and won't put more than 5 in the LZ. They know what happens if you do.

Yeah, they'll just stop benching stuff as soon as the realize they only need the lone attacker. It's more common for a player to get over confident, keep only one benched Pokemon, and wail away thinking they're safe because you haven't gotten the lock. Watch for that and similar scenarios then just Seeker and Take Away to wipe that grin right off their face :)

if they have pokemon collector you might have a hard time winning.:frown:

Does not matter. Once you Epic Win the Dialga, and you have two Seekers in hand and a Palkia in play, you win every single time. They do not get the chance to lay down Basics, as their turn is skipped. You force them to pick up 2 Pokes on the first turn, and another 2 on the second, taking out the 4 Pokemon left after a Palkia happens.

It's been too long since I went to high school, anyone else want to give the math ago?
You have a 25% chance of hitting double tails on the first Dialga. You have a 50% chance of hitting one heads and one tails, and thus continuing your turn to have a 25% chance on the second. 25% + (50% * 25%) = 37.5% of skipping your opponent's turn with two Dialga Lv.X in play.

ive run this before
its very fun to play

my list was clunky and thrown together rather sloppily
so ive taken some inspiration from the decklist you have and basically doubled its speed

ive found junk arm to be a great card in this deck, it can help if you've had some bad luck with the level maxes and can get you a supporter back through a used vs seeker, or just get any other trainer you might need

and ive never really noticed my opponent getting a big enough hand to merit copycat, or have i just not been paying attention?

I ran it on a lark...lots of fun! I added warp energy, 1 Mesprit and maxed the Bebes (took out research record, 1 collector, rescue).

I ended up 4-4 but I had a chance to win every game (didn't get the double tails at the key moment). Decks weaknesses were Dusknoir (what? who plays dusknoir right now) damage even, Garchomp (can't shield everything)...Luxray turned out to be less of a problem than I thought because you can just hold off on the Palkia until you're getting close. Other big problem was TIME...5 of 8 rounds went to time at my regional.

Key to the win is getting 2 Dialga X's into play...makes a HUGE difference!

Anyway thanks to Wayne and the rest of the inventors of this concept...fun to play something so different from the field and know you have a chance against anything and anyone!

I went 3-2 (9th in Swiss) today in Spokane Valley's Battle Road with this exact list. I might modify a little before tomorrow's BR, so if anyone is interested in the changes I make and how well they work let me know.
It's a great deck, and most of the people there were amazed on how it worked.

IMO best matchup: Reshiboar. Reason being is it kills the Jirachis without question, and that's you're going to hope for if you run this deck. Worst matchup: Trainer lock. Whether it be in the form of VileGar, or just a teched Spiritomb, Slows it down for sure. I still won against trainer lock today with it (They were trying to stall until I decked out like a punk.)

EDIT: Forgive me if I am in violation of any rules by necroposting. I felt it was relevant enough to the article itself to have bearing.
