If you're not angry...

It doesn't have to replace but just supplement. If we replace 10% of Fossil Fuels with Biofuel, we can cut the cost down by a bit, and stretch our supplies for 10% longer. It doesn't have to completely replace it, but it would be nice if we could make large ammounts to be able to no longer be reliant on Fossil Fuels that major gas companies rip us off for.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Source link. I gave you evidence to prove my point, by just saying "it was on so and so a while ago", you may as well just be blowing a razzberry on a cat.

not my fault no one watches CNN (Communist National Network)

I think your missing the point. Wood chips come from lumber mills and other places. They would recycle something that is otherwise useless. I think your missing the point here. The more sources ethanol is made from the better it will work. Also they are working on making it from the corns stalks and switch grass. I suggest you read about things a little bit before you pass premature judgment on them.

Agreed. Supposedly this company is hoping to sell ethanol made from wood chips for about $1.80 a gallon by 2010. I think the main point is that ethanol can be made from many different things, and the more fuel we use that isn't gas the better.

Does anyone even care about hamsters?! They can't survive without woodchips. THE HAMSTERS ARE GOING TO GO EXTICT BECAUSE ALL YOU GUYS CARE ABOUT IS GAS!!! SAVE THE HAMSTERS SAVE THE WORLD!!!

I just remembered something more interesting than either chips or manure. There's apparently a way to manufacture ethanol directly from genetically engineered bacteria. Since bacteria eat anything, they're easier to work with and they save space because you can stack culture after culture of cells.

Hey, bullet, send the link or you're not going to be taken seriously.

like a link to a 2 year old story is going to be around?

you either believe it, or scratch your ***.

The whole "believe it or not I don't care" doesn't make you anywhere close to more valid, it just makes you an easy target to be mocked. No evidence, no one cares, and your attitude just makes you look immature =/.

I just wrote a term paper on the subject, and will find a way to post it after it has been graded. Basically, current biofuel technologies are not nearly as good as the average layman accepts them to be. If you have access to online journals, read some of these:

Of course I'm angry.

Everybody's angry about this.

i disagree. everyone's too wrapped up in martyrdom to be angry. oh look at me, driving around in my big car all by myself. i still, daily, watch people sit with their cars on idle in parking spots for durations of time that would benefit them to turn their car off. i watch people drive two blocks to the convenience store, instead of walk.

anger often comes with an action of some sort, and few, to no, americans are changing their ways.

i am 31, and i own no automobile. you can count the number of months, in my whole life, that i have owned a car, on two hands.

there are plenty of alternatives, but we are too set in our ways to do anything about it.

The hypocricy of our government runs paramount with the attitute of out own citizens. Our people are well known for there greed, thus our government reflects that. So if you realistically believe that anything short of one politician believing he can obtain personal gain from reacting to the price of gas, I am saddened to say your naivety will be the end of you, and the end of this country if many countrymen have the same beliefs.

The United States and United Kingdom with the random little regiments of troops from Europe are something I'd hardly call World War III.

We're already there, given that more or less all of North America and Europe are engaged to varying degrees in war with the middle east.
Something else about the two world wars is that they were fought all over the world. Not just one place.

World War 1 was pretty much fought entirely in France. The Eastern front was there but thats still in Europe. WWII was, again, mostly in Europe with small dabs in Africa and the Middle East. Its only a matter of time before it escalates into global war, espically with the water shortage looming on the horizon in China.

Yeah, it's not like the US fought a war with Japan that took place all over the Pacific Ocean. And we definitely did NOT drop two atomic bombs on them.

That "war" was really nothing in comparasion to the War in Europe. US is at war with two seperate countries right now, so either way your point is mute.

Sorry but I think any historian would agree with me. The war with Japan in the Pacific was VERY much a part of WW2. Japan and Germany were allies. You really should read up on your history.
