Mewtwo EX; Believe the hype

following the release of ex's, we can assume the pokebody safeguard will also return. combine this with vileplume
and mewtwo ex will have a tough time especially if its the usual safeguard culprits like wobbofet, it will hit for weakness. So ignore the hype, please, when we don't know what will be entering the format with it, it's so stupid.

Because the safeguard equivalent from DP totally did anything. Plus if safeguard returned then a slight tech of a normal Zekrom or Reshiram (or the equivalent for your deck) would counter that just as easily.

Partially true, but It will beat Mewtwo/Celebi.

Fine, but i'm also predicting a reprint of Ninjask DX or something similar, then what?

Alright, let's all make an agreement here and now: Nobody is to play Mewtwo-EX so that nobody needs to counter it. Problem solved!
Wait, nobody's trying to counter Mewtwo anymore?

*Adds Mewtwo to deck.

I wouldn't jump to any conclusions. The old ex's couldn't use a lot of special energy, Pokemon tools, search cards, etc. The new ones can. There's no disadvantage to being an EX other than the two-prize rule. We haven't seen any Safeguard cards yet, so there's no reason to assume there will be any in the future. Besides, chances are there won't be any until the August set if there actually are any. We've already seen most of the cards in the next two sets.

The EXes have been revealed already; we are getting them as the next set.

(I think I may have read what you said wrong, but just in case.)

I think four examples were enough to make the point it was a counter-Pokemon-ex Poke-Body that blocked all effects of attacks, including damage done by Pokemon-ex to the Pokemon that had Safeguard.

Sadly since some of the greatest snipers of those formats were Pokemon-ex, I don't believe most of those saw major play. Then again it isn't like I actually saw major play, so if it just didn't T4 in like a dozen tournaments, I probably was unaware of it. XD

Mewtwo with two energy vs poke with 3 energy = 100 damage

That's not even enough to OHKO a tornadus without eviolite. I agree it would be silly to make a deck without mewtwo, but ONLY to counter this stupid hype. Also..

Mewtwo with 3 energy return KO'd by Mewtwo with 2 energy and you lose 2 prizes.

This hype is pretty funny but annoying.

Pokemon Mewtwo EX does good damage, or OHKO damage against
Reshiram EX
Groudon EX
All :psychic: Pokemon
Regigigas EX
Zekrom

Remember that we're about to enter a format with many Pokemon worth 2 prizes and take more energy and have high HP and Mewtwo does sizable damage for a DCE and does more damage for each energy attached to the active is very good for such a format, especially since it has high HP itself and a moderate retreat cost.

Also how is 100 damage for a DCE bad anyway?
