Prime sounds like he sees my point: Barack Obama putting someone so wildly inconsistent on foreign policy on the bottom of his ticket is...Questionable, to say the least.

Very untrue there is a legal way to become a citizen currently.
Most other illegals other than the ones from Mexico [And Cuba] are usually kicked out of the country.

It called a waiting line. Many people from other countries wait in this [Immigration] line- yet it might take 7 years to get through the line but it is the FAIR LEGAL way to get in. Being an immigrant myself, and seeing the [MEXICAN] illegals cut in the immigration line would be totally insane.

It is unfair as it is being they aren't kicked out of this country. WHY ONLY MEXICO? sheesh...

They could get in the immigration line instead of skipping to the front.
 
I didn't say that, I said they can wait in the line. Until that time they are illegal.
Now I don't have a solution of what to do with them, they should be given guest worker programs like many other immigrants and foreign exchange students have. McCain does have a plan for such program.

Poofing a lot of illegals to citizen status isn't a good idea. Having too many illegals isn't a good idea either.
Many of those people COULD be terrorists, drug traders and other bad people

There have been Illegal Mexicans in this county for many years if they tried to get in the proper way from the beginning they would have been citizens by now.
 
So did bush, but the republican congress shot it down. I really have doubts McCain is going to get his own party to do anything.
 
I agree the Replulican party over the last 8 years was a disaster, mostly when Bush had the House/Senate on [R] majority.

It would be the same thing with Obama or any other president he can't just poof it into place he has to get the House and Senate to vote for it too. This usually takes time even if the President and the Majority of the House and Senate are the same party.

Plus I don't have any control over if it works or not but it is the right thing to do considering all the other people who want to get into this country.

I may jokingly (or seriously?) mention this in my discuss of illegal immigration, but the U.S. actually has deported tons of illegals en masse.

The only difference was that they were European illegals, and we had a very no-nonsense President in Eisenhower.

Perhaps you live in a happy area of the country where you don't have illegal immigrants, and don't have to hear spansih every time you turn around. It must be quite nice. Not only do you have to listen to very poor english every time you try and ask for help at a store, but they work for next to nothing and HURT the work force. Most of the time, they get treated very badly because who ever they work for knows that they have no other choice but to listen to him/her. Many buisnesses are being hurt by spanish illegal imigrants, because you could have your yard done by a profesional local company and spend hundreds, or hire some mexican guy with a rake and shovel for $4 per hour.

They live here, use our roads, busses, stores, services, yet they pay no taxes, or contribute in any way to the country. If they want to live here, they have to become a citizen just like everyone else. No they should not just keep comming to this country. People who want to legaly come here have to sometimes wait years to become a citizen, and these people who come here illegaly can just cut infront? I dont see how thats fair. Picture what it would be like to wait for 4 hours to get on a ride at an amusement park, only to have some guy just walk up to the front, cut in line and get on before you, and then never have anyone tell them that they cant do that. Now lets picture that lots of people start cutting infront of you... something tells me that you wouldnt be to happy. :tongue:
 
flip flopping in politics shouldnt have this huge negative connotation. you go with your best judgement at the time, and since you learn from your mistakes all the time you may switch sides. its stupid to have the same position your whole life no matter what.

Then making them legal citizens will fix the problem because they will have to be paid minimum wage anyway, therefore nullifying your point about taking jobs. Then they'll have to pay taxes and everything too.

As for your roller coaster analogy, that sounds a lot like life. I'm sorry you can't handle it. Quoting from what may be your own religion, it rains on the just and the unjust alike. Really all I can tell you here is that sometimes things aren't fair, and there is no solution that will be fair for everyone.

That's life, huh? So everytime someone cuts in line in front of you, you'll just say, "that's life.." And then what do you do for the second person, and the third, and the 10^20? They don't have to pay taxes now, so why would they want to pay taxes in the future? There is a system for a reason and if they can break the system, why can't I own ebay or McDonalds for doing absolutely nothing?
