Ohio PTO???

I hate to come here and comment due to i dont know the ohio PTO events or how the gillete's run things but i do remember the days of wizards and how steve gillete ran the events. Alot of my buddies have mixed reactions on the issue so i was scepticle of leaving a comment here but i read all 6 pages of comments left and finally decided to come here and give my 2 cents on the ongoing issue:

First Noone deserves to go after anyone for the gillete's PTO status loss. Derek sounded from here as a good PTO and i know many PTO's that would never attack another PTO for running an event to make fans happy. At the same time no PTO should come into a premier event and run a draft on the turf of another PTO's events due to its steals profits from that PTO even if it helps in making fans happy.
Second, the issue between the gillete's and the PUI revoking the status is a private issue between the 2 groups. If margeret wanted to mention it, she could go onto the gillete's gameroom website and place it there so all players knew but like many say here its the rights of both groups to not place it in a public forum here and im proud that the gillete's for keeping this between them and PUI.

Third,i agree that if you want to support the gillete's with a shirt, wristband or something else go ahead and its a good encouregment but i hope it dosent come to POP having a fight on thier hands at nationals or POP having to any members who want to protest the decision. Yes showing support for the issue is fine but thats all that should happen come nationals.

To the gillete's: For the events at origins that you do, i salute you for how great of a job you did. I known it is hard kepping control of a 10-30 peoson tournament in the years past and this past year having to work in a 200+ person tournament(nationals). I do hope the very best for you in all your future pokmeon events and i hope someday you get your PTO status back to make ohio and kentucky happy. Origins will be a little different without you both behind the scenes but for now its for the best.

These are my 2 cents on the issue and i hope the future of Pokemon in Ohio,Kentucky and Indianapolis will be as vibrant as it was when the gillete's were in charge. Good luck to you,Ryan the new pokemon PTO of ohio and hope you can keep the spirit of the game alive there.

This disapoints me very much so. I too, may quit the game if this consits, and this feeling is shared between many others. The main reason of me playing is not for prizes, its for going to an event with tons of friends and having fun. Isn't that what games are for?

So it's not like the Gillettes are going away.

I don't like it because now, instead of TO-ing, they might be playing. And I have enough trouble winning as it is!

I'm happy to finally announce that I've also been added as a PTO for Ohio. Laura and I will be running Pre-releases and City Championships for Cleveland and the surrounding area (Akron, Youngstown, maybe as far as Pittsburg). We've committed to 1 pre-release per cycle, but we'll run 2 if our schedule permits.

I'm looking forward to working with AgentP to keep Ohio rolling.

Our EX: Emerald pre-release will be May 1st in Westlake. See our announcement in the Pre-Release forum.

Congratulations to both you and Laura. It's great news for everyone and we will definitely be at the pre-release in May. I think it is safe to say that with the two of you and AgentP around that the Pokemon scene will be alive and well in Ohio (as well as other places.)

Welcome aboard!!

Just so everyone in Ohio knows, while TrainerJL aka John is doing stuff in Cleveland and surround areas, I will doing events in Mansfield, Columbus, Dayton, and hopefully I can get into Indianapolis.

But due to my work schedule, I could only do 2 Prereleases this time around. However for the next prerelease, I hope to do 4, and in the cities that I mentioned.
