Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Pokemon Center vending kiosk!

Just visited and purchased a couple of plushies. The purchase interaction is via touchscreen, but for the life of me, I couldn't figure out how to purchase multiple items in one sale, so I wound up making three separate purchases. I would have bought a ton of rising rival packs (c'mon lux x!) but again, I'm too simple and couldn't figure out how to add items to my shopping cart.

I'd like to see some of those plush hats... Kyogre, Grougon, and the like, but the kiosk is very cool. I look forward to giving it more of my money.

Darn, I wish I still lived up in the Seattle area!

I used to actually work in the Toys R Us at Northgate mall.

BTW this looks like the end of the mall that barely anybody goes to.

It was near there that the Wizards of the Coast store used to be, as well as the Suncoast video (in fact it was right across from Radio Shack).

But that was the end of the mall I ALWAYS went to. League was at that wizards. It just doesn't have an anchor store to draw people in.

*drool*

Yet something else that should have came out oh...about 10 years ago.

Ojama King: I agree!

Really though, I think it's a cool concept. It would be even cooler if the prices were as cheap as they are at my league. That would draw in even more people, including those who've always had little money to spend on this game. I too believe that putting stuff like this in more isolated areas without all the game stores necessary to normally play this game, would be a good way to increase interest and output.

I also believe they should have vending machines like this for other popular TCG's like Magic The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh, for all the reasons listed above.

Why on Earth would a vending machine have tax? >_< I do believe there's such a thing as too much tax.

I can only imagine how long the lines would be for these machines...like the lines were on any given release date for a Harry Potter date, most like. xDD

It would especially be nice to see this at Market Place Mall, for me at least. Then at least I'd actually have a reason to visit the place...

I saw this thing yesterday. Pretty sweet.

The side you see in the picture has plushies, figures, boosters, theme decks, video games, and tins. The plushies are about ten bucks each, the boosters about 4 bucks, the tins and theme decks 15 bucks, and I think the figures 5 bucks. I forget how much the games are.

Another side has a PokeDex thing (identical to the one on the Pokemon.com website) and they also have a mini-game from Pokemon.com on that same side.

On another side, they have a Pokemon wii game, idk which one. The final side I forget what it has.

Its a neat idea to have a pokemon vending machine, but I'm not going to get excited until I get one at my local mall :)

Does anyone know what the prices are for the packs/tins??? If they're cheaper then usual, then COOL! If not, then what's the point?

Prices are listed on the last page.

I like that fact that they are selling reasonable priced items--not like those vending machines from Best Buy or Apple where items are over $200.

The items are the same prices that I usually see in card stores. There is no option for multi booster purchase, but that is the nature of a vending machine system.

This machine is actually in one of the most heavily traversed areas in the mall. The food court is down on that end, and the machine is in the area of the mall with tables to sit at. It is designed for micro transactions and impulse purchases, and it works really well. I saw several people make purchases.

The awesome kicker? The machine is about 60 feet from a Gamestop.

To be fair, there is no good place in Northgate Mall to get cards, save for the Toys R Us, which is not actually in the mall. It is part of the building itself, but has no mall entrance.

The mini games are cute, there are 2 touch screens at "kid friendly" heights. A full pokedex screen, and a Wii running "Pokemon rumble." The screen blanks every 2 minutes to prevent burn-in.

Plushies at $10, decks at $14, tins are $15. Boosters are $4.25, figures are $5.

Wow, just wow. I wish I had some of those at the local malls.

I'd love to post the image in the original post in my blog (giving credit where credit is due, of course). Is that OK?

Guess who was at the kiosk today!!

http://yfrog.com/ngphoto0015uj (i, uh, please don't go looking through my stuff on imageshack. thanks. <3)

There appeared to be a demo for what I think was Pokemon Rumble (?), a Pokedex program thing where you could look up relative stats and information for ANY Pokemon, and a screen that was constantly showing whatever the most recent English-released Pokemon movie was. The latter was on a screen conveniently located near the ground and angled down. As if they expected kids to sit there and watch. On the floor. I found it funny.

We were approached by a Pokemon official while we were purchasing my Eevee, since we were all in shock and awe at the machine and thus going very slow, so I retrieved my money and reciept but hadn't pulled out the Eevee yet and he had gotten concerned. We discussed the massive hype on the Gym and how just the fact that it EXISTED had gotten such a great response. Seems like they're doing active research, so I did my piece to make sure you guys get Kiosks in years to come. ^^

And, my girlfriend adores her new dialga

If they ever put Vaporeon in there, I'd be sad if I missed it :p It's the only one I need to complete my Eevee and evolutions set. Although, my set consists of the Japanese Pokemon Center versions. But Vaporeon is so hard to find in with either Japanese or American tags that I'll settle for anything (except from Hong Kong) right now...

Alas, I may be in California, but Seattle is still way too far...
