Chapters 21 & 22
Honestly, I didn't expect chapter 21 to turn out the way it did, but I'm satisfied with it.
Chatper 22 gets a bit intense with emotions, kinda. Hope you all like where the story goes this time around.

Chapter 21: Divide and conquer
Lucas and Zach continued their search for their friends on Fearow when Lucas spots something shiny on the ground. Zach has his Fearow land on the ground. Then Lucas gets off and inspects the item.
Lucas: “This is Chase’s pokeball.” Zach takes a look at Chase’s cartridge ball. His FireRed game was still inside it.
Zach: “So where are Chase and the others?”
Lucas: “We’re very close to the base. You don’t think they got Chase already?”
Zach: “What about my sister? What if we’re next?”
Lucas: “Let’s just keep looking.” Lucas takes Chase’s cartridge ball with him. Zach and Lucas continue their search. As for Vik and Katie, they found the entrance, but it was heavily guarded with 3 Team Chaos Grunts who already released their pokemon. If Vik was to rush into battle, he’d be up against
Bronzong , a Houndoom, An Alakazam, and a
Yanmega.
Vik (whispering): “If we want to get inside the base right now, it’d be pretty tough.”
Katie (whispering): “I thought we were looking for my brother and our friends.”
Vik (whispering): “Maybe they got captured and are already inside ahead of us.”
Katie (whispering): “I still want to look for Lucas and Zach.” She gets up and starts walking away.
Vik (whispering): “Katie, come back here right now.” She becomes a bit irrated.
Katie (shouting): “You’re not the boss of me!” Katie quickly realizes what she had just done and covers her mouth. The Yanmega appears right in front of her and uses a Screech attack. The horrid noise was hurting Katie and Vik’s ears. Two of the TC Grunts show up and command Yanmega to stop.
TC Grunt #1: “Well, well, well, we got us a couple of trespassers.”
TC Grunt #2: “Houndoom, get over here!” Houndoom rushes over to its trainer.
Vik: “I’m not afraid of you guys. I’ve already beat one of our friends.” Vik gets out his cartridge ball out of his pocket once more.
TC Grunt #2: “If it’s a double battle you want, it’s a double battle you’ll get.”
TC Grunt #1: “Don’t think just because you’re dressed as a Team Rocket lunatic means we’ll go easy on you.”
Vik: “Alright, now I’m mad. Go Cradily and Tyranitar!” Cradily and Tyranitar emerge. Katie steps back toward a fake tree where a surveillance camera hidden within it watched the battle and Katie’s every move. When Tyranitar activated its Sand Stream ability, the camera could only watch Katie, which was good enough for Jason. He immediately sent a message to the third TC Grunt guarding the entrance. However, from inside the base other plans were being made.
Gwen: “That was a close one, but we were able to pull it off thanks to you Wildcard.” Chase begins to wake up.
Gwen: “Uh oh, quick Wildcard, Transform.” When Chase finally opens his eyes and gets up, he finds himself inside Gwen's cell in the Prison Hold of the base. Chase groans as he lifts himself back onto his feet. Then he is a bit shocked to find himself in a futuristic prison cell with Gwen standing in front of him.
Chase: “Ah… what happened?”
Gwen: “I helped you out back there, of course.” Chase quickly looked around. A Gardevoir stood next to Gwen, just like before he fell asleep. No one was guarding the area. Somehow, all the security cameras were wrecked.
Chase: “Why did you lock me up in a prison cell? And why is your Gardevoir out?”
Gwen: “Look, things got a bit complicated, but thanks to Matthew and Wildcard, I was able to help you and your friends.”
Chase: “Who’re Matthew and Wildcard?”
Shade: “You know me by a different name.” Chase looks behind him and sees Shade approaching the prison cell.
Chase: “Shade? You’re helping me out as well?”
Shade: “I’m working on my own terms. And Gwen, I already told you, the Matthew you think you know is long gone.”
Chase: “What exactly is going on here?”
Shade: “If I’m going to get my revenge on Jason, then I’ll need your help Chase. That moron tried to brainwash me and it almost worked.”
Chase: “So how come you didn’t get brainwashed?”
Shade: “When I released my Darkrai while I was hypnotized, it noticed that I have been acting different. It used its Dream Eater attack on me and freed me of Jason’s control.”
Chase: “I should’ve known Dream Eater cancels out brainwashing. After all, you used Dream Eater on me before, but that gave me such a headache.”
Gwen: “But only if a pokemon did the hypnotizing.”
Chase: “Alright, now how do I get to Skyler?”
Gwen: “With Wildcard’s help.” The Gardevoir standing next to Gwen transforms back into a
Mew. The Mew then teleports Gwen, Chase, and itself out of the prison cell and into the hallway.
Shade: “So this is how you escaped the first time.”
Gwen: “Yup, Wildcard originally belongs to Skyler, or should I say AJ?”
Chase: “Alright, now I’m ready for battle. At least I can take out Team Chaos form the inside of the base.” He reaches into his pockets and can’t find his cartridge ball. The only other thing in his pockets was his gameboy with his Emerald game. Unable to find his cartridge ball, he panics.
Chase: “Oh no, my cartridge ball with my FireRed game is missing. Did either of you guys take it?” This was a twist of events that Gwen wasn’t counting on.
Shade: “You’re still just as pathetic as before.”
Gwen: “It must’ve fallen out of your pocket when you collapsed out there. No telling if one of the Grunts found it.” Shade then receives a message over his transmitter.
Jason (over transmitter): “Shade, I need you to take care of a pesky little girl. Make sure she never bothers any of us.”
Shade: “I’m on my way.” Shade starts to head up a stairway.
Chase: “I thought you just said you needed my help.”
Shade: “You’re useless if you don’t have your cartridge ball. If Gwen had taken your cartridge ball in the first place, then we wouldn’t be in this mess.” Little did Chase know, his cartridge ball was in the possession of Lucas and Zach. They were flying around the metallic forest while searching for their friends. It wasn’t long before they spotted the sandstorm Tyranitar summoned. They decide to fly in closer. Vik was in that Sandstorm preparing for battle.
Vik: “Tyranitar, Earthquake! Cradily, Ancient Power!” Tyranitar triggers a tremor that knocks over a few of the fake trees. Cradily hurls huge boulders at the enemy pokemon. As soon as the Earthquake attack ends, Yanmega appears out of the sandstorm with its wings glowing.
TC Grunt #2: “Now Yanmega, unleash your Solarbeam!” Yanmega fires its Solarbeam at Tyranitar at a very close range, making it a critical hit. Tyranitar collapses from the attack’s force. The third TC grunt sneaks behind Katie and grabs her. Luckily, Zach and Lucas fly in just in time with Fearow.
Zach: “Hey you jerk let my sister go! Fearow, use Peck!” Fearow flies in closer toward the last TC Grunt trying to kidnap Katie. Vik, on the other hand, was too busy with his battle in the sandstorm to notice any of that happening. He looks over at his fallen Tyranitar.
Vik: “How did Yanmega gather so much sunlight in a sandstorm like this?”
TC Grunt #2: “I had Yanmega fly out of the sandstorm’s range and gather as much sunlight as it could.”
TC Grunt #1: “Now it’s time to finish you off. Houndoom, use Overheat on Cradily!” Nothing happens.
TC Grunt #1: “Uh… Houndoom?” Eventually, the grunts spot Houndoom fainted from the combination of Earthquake and Ancient Power. The first TC Grunt calls it back into a pokeball.
TC Grunt #2: “Now that was just pathetic.” Vik takes a another look at his Tyranitar. It struggles to get back on its feet and eventually gets up, but is exhausted from the Solarbeam attack.
Vik: “Hey, you you what’s really pathetic? The fact that the two of you couldn’t beat me. Tyranitar, Hyper Beam!” Tyranitar Fires its Hyper Beam.
TC Grunt #2: “Use Double Team now!” Yanmega creates copies of itself in a flash and dodges the Hyper Beam.
Vik: “Fine by me. Cradily, shoot them all down with Sludge Bomb!” Cradily manages to hit all the copies with Sludge Bomb. Eventually, the real one is hit and falls to ground in front of Tyranitar.
Vik: “Tyranitar, finish this battle with Rock Slide!” Tyranitar crushes the Yanmega, and since it had double Weakness to Rock attacks, it was an instant KO. Tyranitar then causes the sandstorm to subside. The two TC Grunts tremble at their humiliating loss. Vik recalls his two pokemon into his LeafGreen game.
Vik: “Don’t mess with the Rocket Prodigy.” The second Grunt recalls his Yanmega into a pokeball and then the both of them run off. Vik then notices that Katie has ran off somewhere as well. He decides to head back to the entrance of the base. Within moments, he sees a Fearow pecking the third Grunt with the Alakazam and Bronzong doing nothing.
TC Grunt #3: “You stupid psychic pokemon. Help me out!” The entrance of the base suddenly opens. Shade walks out and takes a look at the three young children.
Katie: “You’re that big bully who gave Chase those nightmares.” Shade throws a pokeball.
Shade: “Ariados, action time!” Ariados emerges. It had an angry look on its face. Vik quickly rushes toward the entrance and releases a pokemon once again.
Vik: “Mime Jr., it’s your turn!” Mime Jr. appears.
TC Grunt #3: “Quick Alakazam, use Teleport!”
Shade: “Wait, you fool!”
Vik: “Mime Jr., Teeter Dance.” Mime Jr. starts dancing around and gets all the other pokemon in the mood. Fearow, Bronzong, and Alakazam all become confused by the strange dance. Despite its confusion, Alakazam manages to use Teleport. Lucas was first to disappear. Next, Katie disappeared, followed by Zach and Fearow, and finally, Vik and Mime Jr. also disappear.
TC Grunt #3: “Stop it Alakazam.” Alakazam is too confused. It uses Teleport again, this time Shade and Ariados disappear. The Bronzong floats around happily out of its confusion. The third Grunt has no choice but to recall his two pokemon and head back into the base. Lucas found himself inside a storage closet of the base. He opens the door and finds himself near the cafeteria. He was a bit hungry, but with several TC Grunts eating breakfast, he couldn’t join them.
TC Grunt: “What are you doing here, kid?” Lucas turns around and another TC Grunt was standing there with a pokeball in his hand.
Lucas: “I was… looking for the refrigerator. I couldn’t find any milk for my cereal.”
TC Grunt: “I know who you are. Jason told us all that you’re the guest of honor. Go Ivysaur, use Vine Whip.” Lucas tries to run, but the Ivysaur appears and grabs him with its vines. The Ivysaur drags Lucas to another area of the base. Lucas reaches into his pocket and remembers that he’s holding onto Chase’s cartridge ball. Somehow he had to get that to Chase. Chase was not far from the cafeteria. Gwen managed to find him a spare TC Grunt uniform, which he was wearing. Wildcard was also with them, but has rendered itself invisible.
Gwen: “Wildcard, search this room for anything out of the ordinary.” Then they hear Lucas scream.
Chase: “That Lucas. I gotta help.” He starts to run but Gwen grabs him.
Gwen: “Don’t do anything rash. Do you want Jason to find you before you’re ready to battle?” Wildcard finds Lucas who’s holding Chase’s cartridge ball. Wildcard uses a Psychic attack to stop Ivysaur and free Lucas from its grip. Then it reveals its presence to Lucas.
Lucas: “Wow, a Mew!”
TC Grunt: “What?” Mew signals Lucas to follow it. They both head for the Cafeteria’s exit, but the other Grunts caught on.
Gwen: “TC Grunts don’t let that kid get away!” Chase joins the other Grunts and grabs Lucas.
Lucas: “Let me go.” Chase sees his cartridge ball in Lucas’s hand. He grabs it.
Lucas: “Hey that belongs to my friend!”
Chase: “Would a friend to this? Nidoking, use Earthquake!” Chase throws his cartridge ball and Nidoking emerges. Its Earthquake knocks over the other Grunts along with Gwen.
Lucas: “Chase, is that you?”
Chase: “Yeah, I’m just wearing a disguise over my regular clothing. Where’s everyone else?” Vik and Mime Jr. found themselves in the main room of the base, filled with a handful of TC Grunts. They were all ready to battle Vik.
Vik: “Mime Jr., use Barrier!” Mime Jr. jumps onto Vik’s shoulder and creates an invisible wall and then Vik shoves it in order to fight his way through the crowd. When he reaches a dead end, he decides to bring out another one of his pokemon.
Vik: “Ludicolo, Surf attack!” Ludicolo appears and creates a tidal wave. Vik and Mime Jr. stand back as the other Grunts are swept away.
Vik: “Dominating Team Chaos is just too easy.”
Mime Jr.: “Mime mime.” Zach and Fearow ran into the same TC Grunt who was guarding the Entrance.
TC Grunt #3: “You won’t get away so easily this time. Bronzong, time for battle.” Bronzong reappears.
Zach: “Fearow, can you still battle?” Fearow gives out a cry, saying that it can still battle.
Zach: “OK, use Tri Attack!” Fearow fires its three beams.
TC Grunt #3: “Dootakun, use Gyro Ball!” Dootakun fires a ball of energy and it hits Fearow pretty hard.
Zach: “Fearow, are you ok?” Fearow is close to being KO’d.
TC Grunt #3: “Finish this with Extrasensory!” All of a sudden, a flame shoots right past the third TC Grunt and nearly hits Bronzong. Zach looks over in the direction the flame came from and sees Katie on her Ponyta.
Katie: “Leave my brother alone. Pachrisu, use spark!” Katie throws her other pokeball and Pachrisu comes out and lands on Bronzong. It zaps it, leaving it paralyzed.
Katie rides up to where Zach is waiting.
Zach: “I’m glad to see you.”
Katie: “Come on, let’s get out of here!” Zach looks over at his Fearow and sees that it’s too tire to fly him anywhere.
Zach: “Fearow, return.” Fearow is recalled into its pokeball.
TC Grunt #3: “You pests aren’t going anywhere.”
Katie: “Pachrisu, show him who’s boss.” Pachrisu uses a Discharge attack, which zapps the TC Grunt, Bronzong Ponyta, Zach, and Katie.
Zach: “Ow, Katie you need to tell Pachrisu which attacks to use from now on.”
Katie: “Let’s just go. Return, Pachrisu.” Pachrisu is called back into its pokeball and Ponyta runs off with Zach and Katie aboard. Jason managed to catch all the commotion going in throughout the base on the security cameras. He decides to contact Shade.
Jason (over transmitter): “Shade, separate them all and eliminate them one by one. Skyler, it’s time for you to battle.” Both Shade and Skyler receive this message. Shade heads over toward the cafeteria and releases his Ariados. It wasn’t long before he ran into Chase, Lucas, and Gwen.
Gwen: “Shade, get out of our way.”
Shade: “I don’t think so. Ariados, String Shot!”
Chase: Not so fast Shade. Nidoking, use Fire Blast!” Nidoking stops the String Shot attack and hit Shade’s Ariados. Shade isn’t worried by that at all.
Shade: “Ariados, Psychic!” Ariados focuses on Nidoking. Nidoking is hit by a blast of psychic energy and begin levitating in midair.
Shade: “Now, String Shot!” Ariados wraps up Nidoking in string. Chase has no choice but to recall his wrapped up Nidoking.
Gwen: “Wildcard, use you Psychic attack as well.”
Skyler: “No Wildcard, return!” Wildcard is called back into one of Skyler’s pokeball, who was standing next to a door that led to a hallway.
Chase: “What happened?”
Gwen: “Since Skyler is Wildcard's original trainer, it had to obey him first.” Then Shade’s Ariados surprises Gwen and Chase and wraps them up in String Shot.
Shade: “Chase, we have some unfinished business to take care of.”
Chase: “Grr, I thought you were helping us.”
Shade: “You thought wrong. I’m doing things on my own terms.” Ariados drags Gwen away while Shade takes Chase to a different room.”
Skyler: “Hey kid, it’s time I put this to an end.” Lucas takes a close look at his brother.
Lucas: “AJ, you got to snap out of it!”
Skyler: “Who are you talking to? Have you already gotten scared kid?”
Lucas: “You are AJ! You’re my brother! We played sports together, and you showed how to ride my bike with training wheels. How can you not remember?” Skyler begins to get a headache. He couldn’t remember a thing before he became a Team Chaos Admin.
Jason (over transmitter): “Skyler! This kid is trying to throw you off your mission. You must eliminate him here and now! Do this, and we can continue with our world Domination!” Skyler finally focuses back on his mission.
Skyler: “I’m only here to show the world what Team Chaos can do. I have no past, and I’m not afraid to destroy you.” Lucas is frightened by what he hears.
Lucas: “Big bro, you can’t do this.”
Chapter 22: Brother against brother
Lucas and Skyler faced each other. Lucas was horrified by how his older brother was acting. Skyler takes his cartridge ball and throws it. Thanks to the security cameras in the room, Jason was able to watch the battle.
Jason (over transmitter): “Show no mercy.”
Skyler: “Go Salamence and Chato!” Salamence appears along with a
Blaziken that was nicknamed Chato.
Lucas: “It’s Chato!”
Skyler: “What do you mean?”
Lucas: “Don’t you remember when you first played your Pokemon Ruby game? You picked a Torchic and nicknamed it Chato. Chase thought that was a dumb name to give it.”
Skyler: “Liar. This Blaziken was given to me by Team Chaos. I just trained it. I didn’t care much for nicknames. Now send out any pokemon you have.” Lucas was a bit nervous about this. None of his friends were around to help him out. He had to battle alone.
Lucas: “I’m only doing this to set you free, bro. Spiny and Machop, help me out!” Lucas’s Nidorino and Machop appear, ready for the double battle of their lives.
Skyler: “Salamence, use Dragon Breath on Machop.” Machop is hit by the powerful breath.
Lucas: “It’s no use, they’re too strong.” Machop yells out a cry, telling Lucas that it’s ok and he should keep battling. Then Lucas remembers telling Machop on how they could get better by just trying.
Lucas: “Machop, use Mega Punch. Spiny, use Thunderbolt!” Machop charges right back toward Salamence and lands it Mega Punch. Spiny then zaps Salamence with its Thunderbolt.
Skyler: “You forgot about Chato. Use Flare Blitz!” Chato ignites its whole body in flames and then charges at Spiny.
Lucas: “Spiny, protect yourself with your Poison Point ability.” Spiny bristles up its spines and manages to inject poison into Chato when the Flare Drive attack hits.
Skyler: “Salamence use Hydro Pump!” Lucas then recognizes that Salamence. The Hydro pump hits Spiny as well. Both of Lucas’s pokemon are easily tired out while Skyler’s Salamence stood strong while Chato became sick from the Poison.
Lucas: “I remember that Salamence.”
Skyler: “What do you mean? You weren’t around when I got my pokemon."
Lucas: “AJ, I was around. Chase was at our house when he told you that you could raise a Bagon with Hydro Pump. He helped you hatch a new Bagon egg and you’d also show it off. I was very annoyed by that. You wouldn’t even let me play your pokemon games. Chase helped you get that Salamence. Please remember AJ.” Skyler begins getting another headache.
Skyler: “Chase…”
Jason (Over transmitter): “Is you enemy as well as this pesky kid.” Lucas picks up on the transmitter. He couldn’t hear what Skyler was hearing, but he got an idea.
Lucas: “Spiny, use Thunderbolt to wreck that transmitter my brother’s wearing.” Spiny zaps Skyler and manages to destroy the transmitter.
Lucas: “AJ, you are my older brother. You’d never listen to any else except mom and dad. Are you going to start listening to someone else now?” The Thunderbolt did more than destroy the transmitter. It also wore off some of Jason’s Hypno’s Hypnosis.
Skyler: “I take orders from no one. I’m the Leader of Team Chaos! Chato, use Blast Burn!” Chato fires a huge meteor of flames and when it hits Machop it explodes with more intense flames. It then lands on the ground but is extremely tired out from its poison.
Lucas: “Machop, are you ok?” When the flames clear, Machop was burned pretty bad and KO’d. Lucas has no choice but to recall it back into its pokeball. He starts to cry.
Lucas (thinking): Now what can I do? My big brother won’t listen and now I only have one pokemon left. Why did you do this, big bro?
Skyler: “What’s the matter kid, you miss your mommy?”
Lucas: “I miss my brother. You’re not by brother as long as you think you’re Skyler. Please, AJ, you need to snap out of it. Why won’t you remember?” Then Lucas hears a familiar cry of another pokemon.
Ralts (Telepathically):
You can still help your brother Lucas. I will help you battle. The Ralts Lucas encountered before teleports next to Spiny.
Skyler: “What’s this, more child’s play?”
Ralts (Telepathically):
Don’t forget about what you’ve been told, Lucas. Lucas them remembers what chase said.
Chase: Open your heart and forget about failing.
Lucas: “Spiny, go and attack with everything you got!” Spiny lets out a cry and then its horn starts glowing a bright purple. Then it charges toward Salamence and jabs it with its horn. It manages to inject Poison into Salamence as well.
Skyler: “No way! How did that Nidorino learn Poison Jab? Salamence use Dragon Claw!” The Ralts then concentrates and then uses a Disable attack. Salamence is unable to move.
Lucas: “Thank you Ralts. Now Spiny, use Poison Jab on Chato!” Spiny charges with its horn glowing purple once more and hits Chato. Chato is overpowered by poison and faints.
Skyler: “Chato no!”
Lucas: “There’s the AJ I remember. Chato was your favorite pokemon to keep in your party. And Chase kept telling me to tell use different pokemon to battle since you kept beating him with Salamence.” Skyler recalls Chato into a pokeball. Then Ralts teleports close to Skyler.
Lucas: “Spiny, use Thunderbolt on Salamence. Ralts, please help my brother remember.” Spiny attacks Salamence. Ralts prepares to use its Synchronize ability.
Ralts (telepathically):
Think of some stuff about your brother and I’ll make sure he sees your thoughts as well. Spiny ends its attack on Salamence.
Skyler: “What’s going on here?”
Lucas: “I’m helping you big bro.” Ralts lets out a cry and its eyes glow blue. Then Skyler starts getting vision of Lucas’s memories. Playing at the park, riding their bikes, the two of them having fun during one of their Christmases where AJ got a booster box. Soon the visions stop and Skyler has a huge headache.
Skyler: “That was… me? Why can’t I remember what happened before I was a Team Chaos Admin?”
Jason: “You’re not supposed to.” Jason descends down an elevator lift.
Skyler: “You!” He walks to where the lift would stop on the ground floor.
Jason: “Get back to your battle. Your Salamence doesn’t look so good.”
Skyler: “Why won’t you let me remember? Something tells me that this kid is telling me the truth.”
Lucas (to Ralts): “Ralts, I think you did it. Thank you.”
Jason: “Because, the last thing I need is another threat to my new world order. Hypno, do your job!” Jason throws his cartridge ball and Hypno comes out.
Skyler: “You’re trying that again? Salamence, Dragon Breath.” Salamence tried to use Dragon Breath but the poison caused its breath to wither and then it fainted. Jason laughs evilly.
Jason: “Thank you Lucas. You actually helped me. Hypno, eliminate them with Psychic.” Hypno gets ready to attack. Just then, Zach’s Fearow Flies in and catches Spiny and Lucas. Ponyta also dashes by with Zach and Katie riding it.
Zach: “We got you Lucas.”
Lucas: “No wait. My brother’s back there! We need to go back.” Fearow and Ponyta keep heading down one of the hallways.
Katie: “Ponyta, slow down. Lucas what do you mean.” The two pokemon stop rushing down the hallway.
Lucas: “That was my brother. The bad guy came back and now I think he’s going to do something horrible."
Skyler (shouting): “Lucas, help me!” The kids are shocked to hear that. Spiny gives a cry to tell Fearow to head back. The last thing anyone heard was Jason’s evil laughter. When Lucas and Fearow returned to the room he saw Skyler levitating from the Hypno using Psychic. They escape though one of the higher corridors.
Lucas: “Fearow, please follow them.” Fearow flies toward the corridor, but the Hypno returns and blasts Fearow with a Psychic attack, knocking them down.
Skyler: “Lucas, no!”
Lucas: “AJ, fight him. Don’t let him control you again!” Zach and Katie arrive on Ponyta. With Fearow KO’d by the Psychic attack, there was no way they could follow Jason.
