Shiftry-ex?

I wonder why it took me an entire year to truly appreciate Houndoom. My bro plays a deck with him and it is like an auto-loss for so many matchups.

Houndoom w/ Shiftry or locking in BF against him?

Use Houndoom to lock in Cursed Stone! XD

I played my SHiftry deck today, I use Espy ex and Vappy ex to control the board, along with LM SHiftry and DX Shiftry. The deck OWNS. This card is sweet, completely beyond his body he is awesome.

makes me wanna tech in Espy ex..lol

Espy helps KO what you Target Attack, plus when i pulled the Espy ex, Vappy ex combo, a tear come to my eye. Here's my list

3 Eevee DS
1 Espy ex
1 Vappy ex
2 Umbreon d
4 Seedot LM
2 Nuzleaf CG
3 Shiftry ex
2 Shiftry dx

3 Transciever
2 Mentor
2 Adventurer
1 Scientist
1 Farmer (I have 1 in every deck, maybe not)
4 PETM
4 Rare Candy
3 Super Scoop Up
4 Crystal Beach
2 Windstorm

5 Grass
4 Dark
4 Multi (Maybe Rainbow)
3 Psychic

How about you take out 1 Umbreon for a Jolteon-ex ? I think Jolteon fits in the theme of damaging the benched pokemon (which brings you closer to koing them and powers Shiftry's ex first attack), he has free retreat and his first attack can finish already damaged pokes.
And yes surprise is gone *cries*

Rory-

Playing Shiftry DX alongside Shiftry ex is a mistake. DX needs to be active for its power to work, and you don't want them to have a stadium (Battle Frontier could be that stadium) on their side of the field, which is why you need to max Windstorm. If you're going to play any kind of backup Shiftry, play Shiftry LM - it compliments the Eeveelutions so much more nicely by letting you reuse their powers. Also, regardless of how many Eeveelutions you play, max DS Eevee for its Call for Family attack.

Shiftry DX doesn't need to be active to use its power...If you play the LM one, it still gets hurt by BF, doesn't help your mirror, and the DX one helps out against BF (Punish them for even playing a staduim). And how many decks do you think will run/be able to run BF? I'm thinking maybe 2, besides rogue...

I've been running into the same thing lately. How many decks can easily abuse Battle Frontier, and how many decks that run Battle Frontier would actually be hurt by Shiftry EX's body? Ludi is the only one that even comes to mind.

My prediction is: If Shiftry -ex finds a way to swarm quickly, then it's going to be a beast. Which means Fighting and Grass along with BF will be huge, thus shutting it down. But as of now, it's just a very good ex with no allies right now.

Flariados is another one.

Well if a deck went huge with Armaldo lines and BF, it would **** shiftry.

Woop, I have seriously considered LM Shiftry, even have him in a few versions, here is my argument for DX though.

A. He can bush away jump blockers for Slicing blade, or he can forced them to put a stall huge retreater while I target attack and snipe.
B. Nice way to Devo Flash with Espy.
C. Nice to act as gust in some situations to hit their bench

Forced Swtich <<<< gust however Shiftry ex really makes the forced switch worthwhile. I have considered 1 LM, maybe 2 and I can take out the scoop ups, but most of the time they bounce an eevee and are useless, and Shiftry DX can make them suffer for using harmful stadiums.

I think that the best "ally for shiftry is coming out in the next set, altaria ex, which would allow for you to actually swarm with shiftry

he only needs three energy, with LM Seedot and CG Nuzleaf, he is pretty set for E excell, we don't want to swarm, we want to control.

Wait, your worried about armaldo, but you don't want to play its weakness????? Obviosly, if armaldo scares you that much, it only makes sence to play DX shiftry.

Papi - good point. However, when they hit us hard that fast and all our nuzleaf have resistance/weakness, it hurts.

I've been trying to work with a Shiftry EX deck. One thing that I've been play-testing and play-testing like *******' crazy is a tech 1-1-1 line of the new Blastoise d. It's the new Kingdra of TRR of the new format.

1-0-1 Blasty may work two. I don't see a lot of Armaldo in VA so w/e.

This just in, I just realized Shiftry ex has free retreat, holy *@#$!!!!!!
