How'd they actually get you off the ledge, if they're subpar?
lucky fsmash or dsmash = off ledge = ko

I thought I went over this one already; Marth's weight is crap. Falco can dair utilt utilt dair shine dair fsmash KO EASILY on Marth's. Why are you taking risks like that when you KNOW what's going to happen in you miss?
A single grab on Falco can lead to death, and shdoublefair into shfairdair is good on practically any character; one of THE best aerial kill combos in the game... only overshadowed by say, CF's.
GaaRa said:i agree with marril ... marths eat fox and falco's i don't kno wat u are talkin about aziz ... its not that easy .. u forgot a single grab from marth is more of a definate Death for those two .. up throw shake my hand ... marth is way too cheap for u to deny that =P .. o and marril our matches aren't as he explains lol ... but he does kno how to combo well ... especially our other friends who don't DI correctly lol
Marril said:The question is, largely, about how consistently people can pull off these OHK combos. I don't mean fight for a bit beforehand, I mean, flat up like he said, "First person to land their hit/throw wins."
Actually, in numerous matchups involving space animals the match relies entirely on death combos.
GaaRa said:whoa whoa whoa ... i beat ur falco plenty of times lmao ... are u kidding me ... i remember at neutral like 4 times ... and i have it on video lol
Marril said:Can I take this as a "yes" to my question concerning matches being determined by who lands their attack or throw first?

Even the simplest of players can win

I'm an SSBM n00b-cake. My friend is competitive with Ice Climbers, and I want to play him just for fun (with no intention of winning). I'd just like to know what character works the best against Ice Climbers.
Someone told me Marth, but I just need a second opinion.
Why not? It does however depend on the character matchup and Marth is one very prone to being death combo'd.

CF beats them bad since he can seperate them and knee/edgeguard Nana for an easy kill. Fox too, since shine KO's Nana instantly and Popo doesn't stand a chance. Marth is a fine pick against them as well, but not as good as the other 2 since he's slow.
Marril said:Then I stand by my statement of, "You must play some really epic games, then."
Well, "epic" in the sense that it's about the same as a cheesy samurai movie in that regard... one hit and it's all over.
Ancient Pokemon Trainer said:Anybody wanna tell me Marth/CFalcon/Falco's bad matchups? Those are my best 3, and prob the only one's could use in tournys if I ever start those, so it'd be good to know the matchups. Also, is there some trick to shl backwards? Sometimes I can do it, but I don't know how lol. =/

Stand by it. Unfortunately for you, that is how competitive smash games can be; and I've never heard a single complaint about such a metagame.
