Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Texas State Championship...March 20, 2010

Wow... people are going to try and net deck me? Good luck with that. I'm too insane in the membrane to netdeck. By the O_O looks I got when I said I was winning with Donphan, I think that people aren't going t see what I see in there. This win will probably increase the Gyarados play for regionals.

Let it. Just include a Mr Mime MT or two in there and stop Gyarados dead. Awesome job on your win, man, I know how psyched you were just to get top cut and have 6-1, so to win states had to have been an impressive sight. Congrats, and see you at League!

You know what? I had this strange feeling that Demarcus was going to win the whole tournament when I was riding back home on the DART, even though I had no clue of what he was running in his Donphan other than...Donphan, lol.

Looks like I was right. Major congrats, dude. :thumb:

What happened after I left? Demarcus...winning? In a tournament that I didn't top cut in? What's goin on with the world????

Haha, jk, Demarcus. Nice job ;)

Thanks to everyone for coming out in the horrid weather to make Texas States Amazing! With very little drama, Big D came out on TOP! Charlotte represented the Ladies well making it to 2nd and just missing the championship,, maybe next year Char!

Thanks to all the Players and Parents for making this year memorable and a true Joy to Judge.

Thanks to the Staff for keeping things rolling after we had minor issues to get it going... you guys Rocked!

Thanks to my Judging Team for handling all issues that arose. You guys and gals made sure that consistency in ruling keeps things moving forward.

Lastly, you can say enough about the BEST PTO IN THE US! Birch is THE MAN when it comes to tournament organizing. He puts the Players and Parents First and makes sure we all come away with awesome memories! For all he is to our Pokemon Family, it is an honor to say:
Birch is MY DADDY!

dont forget a special thanks to PHILIP for those AWESOME playmats!!!!!

i didn't get a pin though :(

congrats demarcus
and as for the texas states booooooooooo..............
judges shouldn't hold grudges just because they haven't beaten a certain person in a tourny. disqualifing a person who i called to the table just because they dont agree with you. MrMeches
CotD/Deck Article Editor booooooooooooooooooo........... how about new judges that havent had a past anger issue with certain players.........
pokemon is about fun and the love of the game.... Y cheat that just takes all the fun out of it............ people travel hours and days just to have fun and meet new people that have the same interest, and some that are involved dont have that same love, and people dont care and just want to ruin it for everyone........................
pokemon is a card game that bring different crowds together, dont mess that up JUDGES. this is fun keep it that way

Sour grapes never work, congrats to the giant professor and how did Mike do????? GO SPARTY!!!!!!!!

Um... the guy used foul language towards a judge. If you read the tournament rules you will see that the penalty is disqualifying the player and its up to PUI to determine whether the player can be allowed to play again. The player made some bad choices, not the judge.
MrMeches is a very fair judge and he could have disqualified more players for other issues, but he didn't. And I know for a fact when MrMeches plays, he doesn't take it personally if he wins or loses and he doesn't put his personal feelings in to his judging calls.

/QUOTE]

Someone said to me at the tournament on Saturday, "When playing Pokemon ceases to be fun, its time to stop playing." Maybe you shouldn't be playing if you get angry because you lost or don't like a ruling.
I take every loss and judgment as a learning experience and I always find fun in it.

(I accidentally hit the back button and it reposted sorry about the second post not trying to spam)

how did Mike do????? GO SPARTY!!!!!!!!

I went 4-3, losing to a Beedril deck, Flygon / Machamp, and my son. I played Abomasnow/Honchrow/Crobat.

I had a first round no show (easy win, lol). The player was sitting behind the judges tables and later told me he had no intentions of playing. That kinda ticked me off, I really wanted to play, I didn't want a free win.

The highlight of the day was getting to play my son for the first time in a tournament. I knew I had no chance against his deck but I gave it a shot.

The tournament was fun and I really enjoyed playing all my opponents. Thanks for the games.

Texas States was tons of fun! I went 3-4 but was incredibly happy. I think its because I didn't face a single SP deck :)
