TGW and Absol - Their Effect on OP

Look, just stop complaing about Absol. IT'S NOT THAT GOOD.

Now if you want to complain about somthing, GE will give us a combo even more powerfull than Absol and TGW, at their best.

I was talking to a friend today and he said that the main thing he is finding annoying are hundreds of gardevoir and gallade decks EVERYWHERE...

At our four CCs, I saw Absol once. It took second place.

One interesting thing about the current format is that these cards that seem to rise up and dominate upon their release, do so only to get beaten back down to earth with the release of the next set. Absol is just the next in a long line of victims.

Absol is not broken. People will eventually adapt to its effect on the early game. In a few weeks all you whiners will forget about Absol and start in on whatever "broken" card is in the new set. Feh.

Man, my opponent today. RIPPED MY hand with Absol. My Hand was 1 card Turn 3 and I still won 5 turns later.

BAN ABSOL.

BAN ABSOL.
Lets put it this way. If you ban Absol all of you wonderful people won't be able to complane and would be out of a job. :nonono:

What would you complane about then? Putting yourselves out of a job? :nonono::nonono:

Absol is good yes, but shouldn't be banned.

Honestly, it was mentioned earlier- should no counter or more broken card come out in GE, then Absol will become like Pidgeot- play it or counter it- but I honestly can't see it going that far.

Well I think anything that counters it has the problem of being discarded if its a trainer or if its a pokemon you might not get it out at all, or your method of getting it out may be discarded. Given Absol is prone to the same problem but that by and large is entirely based on luck, which is what has got people going on about it in the first place.

The game may have always had a rather large amount of luck involved (prizes, coin flips etc.) however the amount of luck that is in the game can be made more or less by the cards that are legal. People can accept a certain amount of luck changing the game, but on occasion, it gets to be too much.

Wow. This thread made it to at least 229 posts. Great discussion folks.

BTW, I never said ban the cards or that they are broken. I suggested they be reviewed by PUI. Big Difference.

ProfMagma nailed it earlier in the thread. He's been to 10 CCs and Absol Decks won 10 CCs.

In the end, use Absol and Wager and Mars.

Have a great day.

And I know what everyone will be complaining about.

I would be willing to bet anything that once GE is released, we will have a thread called " TGW and Omastar - Their Effect on OP

You DO know he was sarcastic about the BAN ABSOL-thing, right? >_>

Yes I thought it was a good discussion to read here too. I also agree with 'review' rather than right out banning, they aren't broken but I don't think its a whole lot of fun to play against or even with them, at least not for me. If Slowking was reviewed and errated back then, that'd have been a much more practical situation rather than outright banned and still plaguing unlimited.

I think TGW causes problems on its own, there are just cards that multiple those issues, Omastar might be another one, but I think even Omastar isn't that bad as it requires a pretty solid commitment in your deck. Absol and TGW doesn't.

Admin wasn't as bad because its effect was changeable based on the game situation and Pidgeot/Magcargo/Porygon2/Jirachi DX all existed to make things easier after Admin gave you a difficult position.

absol is pointless because it is so overplayed
It should be baned because it does in fact take most of the skill out of the game

I know this sounds stupid but how about a tech of drifblim DP? it recycles alot of your fallen cards from absol.

I play Drifblim/Mismagius mostly for fun, its not 'too bad'. Drifblim wouldn't do a lot of good vs Absol, it doesnt recover trainers only supporters and pokemon and they are shuffled in anyway and the problem isnt the fact it discards, its the fact it leaves you with next to nothing in your hand. Drifblim doesnt help with this much, it only slightly increases the chances you'll run into another copy of something.

Most stage 1's except for Banette (cus of Ascension) and maybe DP4 Claydol probably wont work, counters to Absol are strictly basics and so far it doesnt seem logical to base every basic in your deck able to deal with Absol because realistically thats the only way to deal with it unless you want to depend on the L word, which again, is what has got people up in arms about it in the first place...
