The younger divisions are only from my personal experience....

Jeff V. Dylan L. Curran H.
To be fair to Bobby, he has what is probably the toughest 11-14 competition in the country - note that last yeard at worlds 5 out of the top 32 11-14 players were from Florida.

While we're talking Florida, I'm surpirsed no one has mentioned John as one of the best.

You should talk to some 11-14s and see what they think about that statment....
I don't think we need to talk to anyone in 11-14. Stuart completely DOMINATED last year. And I do believe he T8ed in Magic as well. This is the 1 debate that is cut and dry in 11-14. There are a lot of close 2nds but you can't argue about Stuart's success. I think his success in Magic proves his overall strategical greatness, FWIW.

Actually Stuart hasnt had any real success in magic aside from winning a JSS (the -15 division) and making top 8 at regionals.

Aside from that though he is CLEARLY the best player in the 11-14 and I cant see any other player argued against him.

Nats win, Worlds win, and many other countless wins in the same season? Not to mention this year he won 2 cities, a states, then 3rd at regs? Come on fellas...

I also hear the person who makes all of his decks is a pretty good player too.

Im the Mike Flores of Pokemon =(

There's no arguing with a Nationals and Worlds title.

Curran for 10- and Stuart for 11-14.

As for 15+, it can be heavily debated.

Levi, you suck. Die.

i agree with levi, jon finkel. he's the biggest money maker in the history of tcgs and he's a hall of famer ;-p

It ONLY can be heavily debated. There isnt no cookie cut answer to the question.

Trying to find an answer is quite pointless really, but Im still throwing in my vote for jon finkel.

Also in response to mossy, Scott didnt nessecarily steal the haymaker deck from deranged parot as the concept of a deck using effcient, fast, strong cards was never really found by only one player. Not to mention there lists were far different.

Even if you wanna say scott stole haymaker, he sure did create sponge which was HUGE in its day. Also didnt he make potpourri? The "Four Corners" of its day.

oh and levi if little brooks was playin. he's just make stu scoop ;-p. every reversal or er2 becomes a gow and normal er.

I went 3-3 with a RockLock that used a 4-2-4 ampharos and 4 R energies.
I made a deck with a lame name like ULPIWEB and actually did well with it.
I won several tournaments while wearing a shirt that said "I'm a n00b!"
I think we all know who the best player ever is.

Not really, Phoenix Song. Levi's right: there is no clear-cut answer to this, and it's very possible that the people we're all mentioning could be easily outdone by an under-the-rader player. I guess I'll throw my bit in there for the younger divisions:

For 11-14, Psyduck-Chad was mentioining to me how skilled Takashi Yoneda (2nd at 05) was. I observed, and was not surprised at all: That kid was very good, and put up a very solid fight against Medicham, the auto-loss. I don't think that Stuart should be mentioning as much for the 11-14, because well...he's gonna be 15 soon enough.

For 10-, although it is undisputed that James B is the #1 beast of them all, Mikey G has done extremely well for himself, too. I see that kid making the West Coast proud come worlds.

Pfft, cmon now. The Haymaker deck concept was the trainers and BBPs. Mixing and matching Mewtwo, Magmar, Hitmonchan, Electabuzz, Scyther and Ditto didn't take much imagination.

Honestly the biggest concept I think DP made was being the first to see how good Lass was. The card was seen as a joke to most everyone until he found that diamond in the rough.

John Finkle also has made less than Kai Budde.

Here are the players I think are good in each division:

15+ I really think that Jason, Alex, Moss and Seena are all very, very easily cabable of being the best in the game. Yamato is alright but still the ludi at worlds made me think uhh, what? I think I'd put Alex on the bottom of that list tho (no offense to him) just he's not been playing as much. Seena probably 3rd for that reason. Tho the guy does NOT lack from it at all it seems. Alex doesn't either really. I really have the most respect for those four and consider them probably this games best

11-14. Currently? Dan R is probably one of the best right now... or Jeff V. How ever overall, Steven D, hands down was the best 11-14 player. I can't believe no one mentioned him. He only dominated that group the whole time he was in it. I mean for God sakes he won like everything he went to in 2004 other than worlds where he got top 16 2004. He got i think no less than 3rd in any other tournament that year... including winning several cities, 1 state and nationals. Then 2005, He won I think 4-5 cities, 4 states (undefeated btw) 2 Regionals... 5th at Nats, 5th at Worlds. He was a prodigy in that age group!

10- I honestly don't know. I'd probably give this to Vince's kid I think.

What???? I retract everything good I ever said about Ness. That is unforgiveable!!

you know everyone has their bad days. I've lost rokman for crying out loud!

it seems that ness is the most supported here. cool. Nice way to get some respect Ness! :thumb:

In the 10- age group I have to say me nephew Steven E. had to be one of the best in the world at the time. He beat quality players who where mentioned by M45. About making players quiver, I can remember many kids getting ready to play against him and say, "Not you!", Parents actually would ask judges about pairings and how their son was playing him. Even when he moved up last year in the 11-14 division he won his first tourny in the age group, it was pretty impressive since it was Regionals.
