Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

The future of pokemon...

Going by the pattern of Gen 1-4, being Gen 1 and 3 being base Pokemon (A lot of Hoenn pokemon resemble Kanto pokemon), Gen 2 and 4 being mostly evolutions, this will be a lot of Gen 1/3, meaning a lot of new Pokemon. Let's just hope they don't rip off Gen 1/3.

More pokemon until you can't even name them all without celebrating a birthday in between. At a certain point it starts to feel like they're creating mashups, not original Pokemon, which is a shame, as they need the new creatures to drive franchise sales -- there's only so many stories they can sell without adding new faces to the mix.

I don't know about the evolutions I would hate to see what they would do to some already cool pokemon, Not saying they are to cool to become more cool but look at some of the evolutions the put in gen 4. Lickylicky not that was stupid and probopass some of them just didn't make the pokemon that they came from look better at all. I thank they ran out of ideas when they were making the fourth gen with the evolutions. Some of them I would guess the creaters just got drunk one night and said (Hey this would be cool and people will buy it.) If that is how the evolutions will be then I thank they need to take more time to creat something that don't look like it came form a drunk night at the bar.

Random thought...

Rather than trying to push more creatures into the game, why not actually create a reasonable storyline with complexity and depth? Why not try something other than the silent protagonist? Why not try for a more Final Fantasy (or at least Dragon Quest) style of game, story wise?

Dunno bout everybody else, but I'm sick and tired of "evil team tries to take over or destroy the world" cliche that Pokemon's been working through ever since the beginning. At least Platinum mixed it up a little bit having Cyrus stick in Giratina's dimension, but I'd like a little bit more variety. Maybe they should contract with Bioware or Square for a game or two? It'd be fun to see what those two companies could do with this universe...

/\ That would be a great idea I would love to play a pokemon rpg that don't have a stupid team of people that are trying to do some thing with a powerful pokemon. They should make a game that to objective is saving something and not just getting badges and beating the what ever team of dum thugs that don't even know what they are doing. Most of the evil teams don't have a clue about the plan of the boss but they still sit there and throw pokemon out so you can get some exp. I thank they should have it like a mix of zelda and pokemon. Have a maen objective and rase pokemon to help you and that the badges as a side mission.
Maybe have a storyline of thret that is coming and yeah they can throw in team rocket or some thing like that but make it like pokemon 2000. The character that you are is a choisen one and you have to compleat the that quwest to save the world from "I don't know a element inblance and you are the only one that can find the key to stopping it" and in the quwest to stop the problem you can get your badges and after you save the world then you can battle the elite four.

Thats just one of my ideas that they could do to make it awesome and change the world of pokemon and the fan. That would make it more of a game that others that aren't poke fans what to play. Every one knows about pokemon and if a game like that came out I know some people would like to try it and see if pokemon has change from when they liked it, if they ever did. never know that may bring a bigger fallowing it that pokemon world then they could make more and better things. Nintendo has been around for over a hundred years so you would thank they would know more about what people would want.

I wasn't trying to bash them I was mostly talking about some of the ones the they made in the fourth gen. I hope they don't kill to miny pokemon in this new gen. I hope it's will full of new cool pokemon that would make me want to catch them all you know.

It sells too well already. Why would they change a winning formula?

I sympathize with you; I'd love to see some sort of semblance of a good storyline (like in the MD string of games) in the main series, I just don't think it'll ever happen.

Some thing's I'd love to see:

1. Easier IV stuff.
2. No game corner
3. No team
4. More activity's than just getting badges and ribbons
5. Being able to explore all lands from the Pokemon universe to actually be able to catch them all.
6. It would be nice to determine where you land when you use fly
7. As an extension of 6, small Pokemon should NOT BE ABLE TO LEARN FLY OR SURF. Or atleast disable to traveling part until they've grown.
8. 3D only if it's got ways of traveling faster instead of people running 5 kilometer per hour like in the GC games.
9. If it's 3D, have more interactive battle system that has the option of skipping the 5 minute long attack animations.
10. It would afterall be nice to actually be able to give commands like dodge.
11. Better story. Period.

Things I would do in my game. I was going to have a guy tell you Pokemon's IVs. He would say something like "Out of 31 and 31 being the highest, I rate your Vaporeon's attack 27." meaning it has 27 attack IVs.

1. No EV's/IV's, they're annoying and i think we have enough pokemon so we can get away with it, it's not like R/B with only 20 pokemon w/ good base stats.
2. Badges are optional, you can still go to the league though
3. Prelim. rounds in the pokemon league which would be a WiFi event. You battle actual people for league titles.
4. If you went and got all the badges, you just go straight to semi's, though this would mean that the gym leaders would have to be a ton better (like they are actually good).
5. Better story with stronger villians
6. More post-story options/longer story
7. All regions, you can start in whichever one you choose (obviously we aren't getting this for the new GenV games)
8. The abillity to travel to different regions
9. All friends on WiFi palpad are visable to you when they are playing, you can use the mic. feature on the DS to talk to a party of people
10. The abillity to personalize your sprite
I'm most likely going to see none of this, but this is what I would love to see in the future of Pokemon.
Bullados, the reason why they do the silent protagonist is the same reason why mute Link in the Zelda games. The character is supposed to be you, so if they add a voice they are taking away from some of the imagination of the game.

Agree and disagree. No IVs could work splendidly, but I think taking away the EV system without implementing a suitable substitute would take a lot away from the game. IVs are a time waster and simply make 'competitive' battling unfathomable for some people (unless you're okay going in with inferior stats!); whereas EVs are quick to do (though could stand to see some improvement as far as the methods that you get them/their info in game) and offer a huge amount of customization for each Pokémon.

With the EV's maybe make it easier (i hate just sitting around spamming attacks for an hour just for stats). Maybe you could lower the prices of the Stat Boosting drinks and use those for EVs. But IV's got to go.

I'm going 1 step further and say that there won't be EV gain until you are at some point in the game. That way, you can even train your starter to have decent stats instead of being forced to catch stuff like Rattata and Starly to keep your starter 'fresh'.

Again, the EV system could stand to see some improvement, especially in the department of how they're acquired. Personally, I would prefer a tried and true "stat distribution" option, something akin to a standard RPG. You level up, you get points, you distribute them. Probably not the best option, but certainly a basic one that would work wonders in comparison to the tedium of having to hunt Zubats or Geodudes for an hour, as well as prevent situations you've described.

I think replacing EVs should be easier. I accidentally trained my mgnezone with 252 SpA Evs even though 248 will give it the same stat (only 30 sp atk iv for HP: fire). So now Im going to have to redo 148 of those sp.atk evs just so I can get an extra sp.def point.

I think Nintendo needs to make a new stat page, charting both IVs and EVs in each stat. It's rediculous that they'd make such impostant stats invisible.

Just FYI, most of the time 1 point in anything but HP or Speed won't do anything at all, it took 28 D evs for my Salamence to take 3 less damage from an attack.

when u fly and dig, there should be something like a 3-d game where u dodge stuff in the air or underground. so if u fly across the whole map or 2 a new region, it takes longer to get there. it's to unrealistic to just be able to spoop across the map in one second.
also less legendaries.
