Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

the return of lunatone

Celeni,
I knew exactly what Lunatone you were talking about. BTW, Since when is Blissy suppose to be the new Pidgeot? I know Blissey doesnt have Quick Search. Theres no way every deck will play Blissy. Mainly because Blissy is terrible outside of a rush deck. Either, Deoxys will be gone next season, and DP2, which Blissy resides in, will not be legal until next season.

damb i forgot, people got me all mixed up they, i meant up to 4 lunatone LM and 1 solrock LM. it happens that time it was my fault.

here is blissey, this thing is suppose to work with pop 4 sceptile well. within a said deck it is stackable. so stack all energy on one guy then power, move to another and do it again. what makes metagross d good, blissey does something similar.

Blissey L.44 – Colorless – HP130
Stage 1 – Evolves from Chansey

Poke-Power: Kind Egg
You can use this power once during your turn, if Blissey is evolved from Happiny. Count the number of Energy attached to Blissey, choose up to that many cards from your hand, and shuffle them into your deck. Then, draw the same number of cards. This power can’t be used if Blissey is affected by a Special Condition.

[C] Happy Chance: Does 20 damage + 10 more damage for each Energy attached to Blissey. Before doing damage, you may search your discard pile for a Basic Energy card and attach it to Blissey.

Weakness: Fighting (+30)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 3

i am not talking about a straight lunasol or lunarock deck. here is an example of what i played last year.

4electrike DX
3manetric ex
3marowak FRLG
3cubone FRLG
1ditto FRLG
4lunatone LM
1solrock LM

searchable trainers
3h.transceivers
2vs. seeker
4cursed stone
1giant stump
2swoop teleporter
2warp point

man i miss this deck. that aside this is how i meant to use it

this thing was a beast turn two starts and a guarnteed turn three start. this thing usually had one attacker going full blast, this thing did what banette decks do today with marowak. however on a good go 70 damage by turn three wasnt uncommon. the concept is still here just many of the cards dont exist.

think what you want but in some matchups it was as near to an autoloss as it got and in others lunatones were discarding fodder as well as a good starter. you dont use every card in every game. i mean does any deck use all of its techs in every match. however rush decks dont have as much locking power or damage capabilities.

flygon- i will ponder your point of view however.

Rush decks deal decent amount of damage for small energy cost, just like lunasol does, but it dosent need techs. Its hitting faster than the tech could and will do enough fi you disrupt and play the game right.

Lunatone LM isnt a good tech honestly, you could play battle frontier and it stop catty, then it ALSO can stop metanite, shiftry, flygon d,etc. Its basically for colorless,Flygon Ex LM-Catty are the only real played normal pokes with powers that would pose any threat. So its not that good to tech for a deck you will rarely see if its not big in your meta.

There is no chance of Lunatone making a come back... The only cards it shuts down are NOT widely used... The only reason it was ever good was because Smooth Over Magcargo and Pidgeot where used in a ton of the decks played... That was it. So have fun losing with your little Lunatone deck...

Imo, Lunasol doesn't HAVE to be used to shut down powers. Granted, it was more versatile when you could tech in Lunatone and Solrock LM to shut down the popular powers, but these days I run it as a simple, quick turn-2 60 damage deck. Yes, it does have problems with decks like Raieggs, Flygod, etc., but even then Lunasol I feel is still useful. Just my thoughts.

But hes just talking about teching in lunatone LM for Infernape and Colorless decks.

Even then, I'd not recommend it unless Infernapes or some fire Pokemon become really rampant in the future. Lunatone LM is definately the worst card you could possibly start with, and you'll be kicking yourself everytime you're forced to start with it, which can happen more often then you'd think.

seriously you guys have no faith in your cards. any way this is actually better than jirachi and castform right now. i mean nothing can one hit ko it outside of weakness by turn two. it is actually the only guaranteed way to get mentor turn two. it can get more. personally i have predicted before and thats what wins tournaments, being too late and you will run into counters. i just see alot of emphasis on fire powers because everyone believes they have no counters.

another thing is dont mention budew you still drop an energy onto it to bench it, to me it still cost an energy.

Think of it like the Latilock in today's format.

Rgon doesn't slap you silly...Flygon ex d does. Rgon relies entirely on cards that aren't hard for Lunatones to ko...Flygon d? Crystal shard. Ray ex d? Just two hit ko for the price of a non-ex. Add in the uselessness of the mew twins, as well as eggs' ineffective status, and you've got a good matchup...unless they get a ridonkulously fast flex.

My bro's at a battle road tonight. We'll see how he does vs the Flygon field we've worked so hard to counter.

A 1-1 lunasol tech will see some play if the fire and colorless power decks become popular. BTW with only 8 pokes the lunasol deck has plenty of room for power stopping gyms like holon legacy or the power damaging gym cursed stone. I use to play 7 gyms in my lunasol deck. What killed the deck is raieggs and then flygon ex , Raieggs IMHO is a better antipower choice than lunasol.
