Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

the return of lunatone

Just the Solrock actually, Inernape/Catty doesn't seem to be so big in my area. In addition, I can't stand Lunatone LM, as it is just about the worse start you can have, in addition to limiting your attacking abilities. And yes I used Plus Power (no Strength Charm).
Bad start? It's not the best, but searching out any Trainers isn't bad IMO..

Omar is my baby daddy. He got to worlds last year with Lunasol (I'll never forgive you for that...) so it's fitting he did well with it at battle roads.

Well, the thing is that's less Lunatones that you have to attack with. Granted, if you run the holon engine, you probably will have a Farmer to sweep the discarded Lunatone back into your deck, but it takes 2-3 turns to then get a Lunatone back and powered up, during which one of your valuable Solrocks may get KOed. Furthermore, by having Lunatone LM stuck on the bench, you'll then have to chose between building another attacking Lunatone to replace the first one or one less Solrock to power your attacks.

Well, at my last Battle Roads on Sunday, I managed to place 3rd. So overall, I do believe that Lunasol deserves some notice before it fades away.

Haha! Notice some of the more respected players on the gym come to the defence of Lunasol (as a TECH pair and a deck in itself) and all those haters at the start of the thread, (who, imo were being very harsh on Celino).....have suddenly disappeared??
losers....

Neway, I agree with Lunasol as a good tech. If cattyape is as popular as I've heard, shutting its most important elements down could be very useful indeed. Plus, with the trans/mentor engine, who cares bout finding two basics to shut down pretty much an entire deck?!

A deck on its own tho... i guess I'd have to see it to believe/understand how well it does in the current metagame (remembering that the UK hasnt had DP at its battle roads).

GJ to Omar btw!

space center shouldnt be a problem when they have what maybe two in their deck. that and when facing inferncatty you dont need your gym/windstorms so its going to be any where from 3-6 to only two space centers.

Infernape isnt that Popular...

yes it is!

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Hmm...well, I barely lost to Flariados the one time I faceed it (won 1, lost 1, ended up losing the other due to a bad hand), and I can usually beat Banette/Houndoom. Never faced Flygon EX d, but I imagine it's a pretty bad match-up.

its not a bad match up you need to get lunatone up quick but this deak can beat flygon

The real killer is the low HP. Energy root always seems to get Windstormed away and most built setups easily ohko lunatone and solrock, heh..

Well, that was an old post. Since then, I've faced Flygon varients twice now, one time winning best 2/3, and one time losing in regular match. So yeah, it is quite possible to beat them. You need to just go in swinging from the start though, because if you have a bad hand it's pretty much a loss unless they have a bad hand as well. Though once Flygon EX d hits the table, you better have several Lunatones powered up since it takes 3 hits to KO it.

Actually, most of the time I rarely see Windstorm. Maybe it's just lucky that my opponents don't draw it, lol.

Lunatones hp=most stage 1s hp. And if they windstorm a root away, that just gives you 1 more stadium to stick.

You do notice what you're saying right...? Throw a Lunatone out there just to shut down its own power with Energy Root?

It's as much of a liability to run as Latilock. Depending on how you look at it, less. Licky d would rather go after a Latias than a Lunatone. You do get Latios EX d, but not everything gets top advantage. :/

The BIGGEST thing right now that LunaSol is worth playing as a 1 n 1 tech for is Mewtwo d. That's gotten a huge increase in the metagame. Blaziken, Infernape Lv. X, and Delcatty next.

A few other things:

Delcatty (LM...maybe :/)
Porgyon2 (DS...prolly not w/ Delcatty back but maybe lol)
Tauros (Not worth playing it just for this, but it does lock it :p)
Energy Evo Eevee
Milotic d
Crush Draw T-Tar
Smoochum d (Tech dat Jynxfett :p)
Kingdra d (Never know, Kingdra swarm is getting popular)
Flareon* (Not worth teching but I've seen some in Flariados)

Or you can get really lucky and some one misplays a Crystal Shard lol :p

That's why you run more than one Lunatone.

And don't randomly attach Energy Roots to random Lunatones.

Edit: I'm not sure if we're all on the same page...I'm thinking of the Lunasol deck that is made up of ONLY Lunatones and Solrocks.
