Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

What to expect/not expect at US Nats

yeah Empoleon is FAST with the right pokemon to back it up my friend KILLS with the deck and as soon as people find out how they will too...

Is this article an attempt to force a metagame shift?hmm...

Why would delta not be played? It has 50-50 matchups and better and with all of those top 5 decks you listed except R-Gon I know is a tougher matchup.

Whoa, I bet Chuck is in the loop and he's got the decks that his SD losses to as MIA, and the good matchups as T5 :D

Can someone clue me in on how InfernCatty works. I understand the early 80's with DRE, but what happens then? You can't do 90 every turn after. Do you use Delcatty ex's attack to shuffle back the DRE and start over again? Please no, "....if you don't win before you run out of DRE" because that doesn't help.

Basically with lass/energy draw you're dumping at least 6-8 fire energy and 2-3 DRE. You then pull back for delcatty ex and upstream for MASSIVE damage for ONE energy. At that point your deck is replenished for DREs.

Please...Chuck is not trying to force a metagame shift. Don't you guys think he might just be writing articles for the sake of writing articles?

IIRC, Chuck has never used a SD at any nats/worlds he played in (or anything outside of being an archetype, for that matter).

Yea, chuck has never used anything that wasn't an archtype, AFAIK. Everything i've ever read in his tourny reports was stanbdard archtypes, except for his take on shiftry was different, but no complete SD by any means.

The number one thing to keep in mind is to not be peer pressured into being "Original". I've never made/played an original deck in my LIFE, and I have one of the best records/reputations in the GAME.

Yeah, your right.

It's not like your opponent is moronic enough to bench Lunarock against a Flygon ex deck.

"OMG! A Flygon ex d! I better bench Lunarock so I can flip 14 Heads in a row with Psyshock for the 15HKO FTW!!!!weyerhaeuser"

All of those decks seem to fall to one specific card(exception certain R-Gon builds), Cessation Crystal. If you can get it out early game, then all of those decks just sit there and take up empty space.

What decks play Cessation Crystal though?
Destiny and RaiEggs.
IMO, those will make up no more than 10% of the metagame.
NOT TO MENTION, every deck taht relies on powers/bodies plays 3-4 Windstorm to counter it.
Trust me, if you don't know how to deal w/ Cessation Crystal, then you deserve to lose against it.

I'm just saying that these decks could lose to a rougue deck that plays, like, 4 CCs, and they may not get the Windstorm intime. It's very likely, and I've seen it happen so many times. I thought i would give everyone a heads up, make sure that your decks are MAXED on Windstorms if your heavily dependent on powers( practically 90% occording to Professor Elm).

I am not disagreeing w/ you. A deck w/ 4 CC's can tear apart some decks, but every deck has a counter to it. Every deck really plays 3-4 Windstorm, and most people draw into multiples within the first couple turns via Holon's Castform which is why those decks can compete w/ decks that max out CC.

First play cursed stones(they windstorm away say 3-4) then you play cess crystal and,uh-oh they are out of windstorms.gg

They'll probably have counter stadiums so they don't have to waste the Windstorms on Cursed Stone(e.g. Giant Stump). All I'm saying is that decks(like mine), practically feast on decks with powers, so its actually tough to counter rougues like myself. Again, just telling guys with powers to be prepared for random decks.
