Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Woot! It got announced!!! (Nintendo DSi)

Pokebeach had the translated article, and Gamespot has an article up on it as well. NOA is denying stuff, but it doesn't mean they necessarily know what NLC has.

I'm not talking about NOA. I went to the Official Japanese Web Site and there was nothing. Any company would do the same thing if they were in the same position. Also I recommend changing the thread title as there is no "announcement" of this yet, so technically the title is wrong.

Look what I found, on MSNBC.com!

Nintendo to launch camera, music-capable DS

TOKYO - Japanese video game maker Nintendo Co Ltd plans to launch a new model of its DS handheld machine that can take pictures and play music by the end of the year, the Nikkei business daily said on Sunday.

The move would pit the top-selling portable game gear with Apple Inc iPod and camera-embedded cellphones in general.

The price for the new machine, which will also be equipped with advanced wireless communications functions, is expected to be below $189 in Japan, compared with approximately $160 for the current model, the Nikkei said.

I wonder if the camera will even be decent. Like how many mega pixels it is, and if it has flash etc.

Considering both branches of Nintendo have given definite No to this rumor, I don't understand why YOU don't have some doubt to the validity of this. It's not a doubt of the Beach, as WPM posted it was from another source, he was simply reporting a rumor. All of the news articles that are being quoted here point back to the Nikkei article... which Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Japan have debunked.

I didn't realize information from Japan's #1 business newspaper, which is the exact same source MSNBC used, would be considered "rumor." I also wasn't aware that official companies deny or pretend not to know about products they are going to release in the future.

Guess you learn something new every day.

it may be awhile though. I am a venasaur rarrrrgh.
And apache maybe if you could be a little less argumentive with everyone it might help this thread go alot smoother.

Exactly. If this is really from Gizmodo, it can't just be a rumor. Gizmodo isn't just read in Japan, it is world renowned. They would not screw this up.

Technically that article title is a bit inaccurate, GB Camera or Play-yan anyone? Granted, they were peripherals, but still...

"The Nikkei newspaper wrote a recent story about a DS solely based upon their own research and speculation, without interviewing Nintendo. While Nintendo is always working on new hardware, we have not made any announcement about a DS and we cannot comment on the Nikkei story."

What's strange is that the original story (I had Ash check) never quotes any sources or in anyway indicates that the story is essentially rumor. The newspaper essentially reports it as fact. So I'm not sure what to make of this.

Both branches of Nintendo responded to this with a "We didn't tell them anything about new hardware."

This is a speculative rumor with no sources. All of the articles that talk about this point back to Nikkei, and Nikkei has no sources. Without a source of information this is nothing more than an unsubstantiated rumor, and until Nintendo releases some information there is no reason for anyone to believe this.
