    Fake Cards: Check the Copyright

The thing is, those repackaged cards aren't usually all that cheap. At least at my local Target, they're generally barely less expensive than Pokemon-packaged merchandise, if at all. Oh, you're no fun at all.

    Copyrights

Are you sure? I find it extremely hard to believe that Nintendo doesn't have ALL of its characters copyrighted. (Or trademarked or registered--not sure of which terminology applies to characters.)

Thank you for the warning. I am female, so I'll have to resist the temptation to play this card. I will also be sure to wear nose plugs and protective gloves when opening Unleashed packs. But for real--it's better than the other one, but not remarkable other than that.

What would you like to see as a League Promo

Will you send us prizes if we guess correctly? I'll guess Pokemon Collector, Palmer's Contribution, Broken Time Space, and Expert Belt.

What do you do when the trust is broken among League members?

I'm sorry, Wayne, but that is not what "a pound of flesh" means. It means an UNREASONABLE and UNJUST punishment. It comes from Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice. Shylock insists on being paid a "pound of flesh" from Antonio. But naturally it would be impossible to pay that debt without...

    Wow.

Exactly. I used this a lot last summer when we were doing our Dirty Decks Done Dirt Cheap tournament, but that was a format where we were playing budget deck vs. budget deck only. Options like Call Energy couldn't be used because they were too expensive. While it was great in that context, I...

What do you do when the trust is broken among League members?

He's not an evil villain. He's someone who has proved that he can't be trusted not to take other people's things. We may not know for certain that he will not reoffend, but we do know that there is a high probability that he will. In this case, the pros of banning him outweigh the cons...

    Pokemon Core Sets

Thanks for the answer, Mike. Any insight on why the decision was made to offer cards with such a short shelf-life?

    Pokemon Core Sets

I like the league promos too. It's been a great way to get staple cards to people. But what's the point of having league promos that rotate out within a couple of months?

    This deck is a nightmare

I've made some improvements to the Rayquaza fun deck that I posted in your last thread on this and it's working very well. Competitive? Not really, but it's winning lots of league games and it's silly fun to play. Note that I use Rayquaza LA also and I made the list post-rotation. Here are...

    Pokemon Core Sets

I've often thought that it would be really nice to have some sort of TSS-only kit that could be sold to newer players who want to quickly and easily upgrade their decks. Many of our people at league are interested in getting better trainers for their decks and it would be great to give them an...

What would you like to see as a League Promo

:: places hand on compendium :: I hereby solemnly promise to not complain that POP didn't listen to me when the actual promos are announced. Playable T/S/S and support Pokemon, please. It was great to be able to hand a kid a Uxie or a Roseanne's and know that they had just...

    Bluffing?

As long as this topic has been re-opened: Let's say I'm playing against an SP deck. I do not know if my opponent has a Power Spray in his hand or not. I announce a power. He says "hang on...nah, go ahead." Assuming he did NOT have a Power Spray in his hand, would you consider this...

At what point do you get your mind right?

The post-Nats lull was part of the reason that WinkWinkNudgeNudge came up with Dirty Decks Done Dirt Cheap last summer. It was tremendous fun for those of who developed the concept and played in the actual tournaments. It was also invaluable in helping us learn how to help the kids at league...

    Game Mistaking

What kinds of mistakes are you making? Are you making the same types over and over? If so, try to develop strategies that will help you cut down on that type of misplay. I'm quite prone to misplays myself, and doing that has helped a lot.
