Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Kyurem...

It's just a playable deck is all. It has a lot to go through. Zekrom and Reshiram can one hit most of the time, Machamp Prime will ALWAYS one hit it after a single Glaciate. Donphan has its body, which really helps on the bench where weakness isn't applied. Steelix tears this deck up (though Steelix ins't popular due to Fire.) Tyranitar has plenty of HP already, Serpior heals (but is with Steelix), and Magnezone OHKO everytime.

Even with all of that, I'm pretty sure Kyurem will still be a really good deck, just not BDIF.

CDL is great for it but think of the line up for it
3-2-3 f'gatr
3-Kyurem
2-2 lunasol or 1-1
1-0-1 Vileplume (catcher counter)
1-1 CDL

too many pokemon and too much strategy, plus think if you would play CDL why not just play 2 Smeargle since you will have Vileplume for Trainer lock.
Maybe a 1-1 lunasol and 2-2 CDL might work, but think you would need 3 collector, 4 communication 3 or 4 rare candy 4 PONT and high JArm count.

What does Recycler do again?

Firstly, I don't like the idea of running 3-2-3 line of ANYTHING. I'd ratherstick to 3-1-3 and use 3-4 RCs.

Secondly... 4 Kyurems is better IMO. It's your main attacker, and it's good to start with. Zekrom requires Plus Power to one-shot it turn one, and Donphan will think twice about hitting it for fear of getting one-shotted by outrage. If you're tight on deckspace, I might justify taking out 1, but only then.

Thirdly, 2-2 of CDL is better. Running 1-1 leaves it vulnerable to one piece being prized. Though it may not be VITAL, it's an option you want to keep on the table, not leave up to chance.

Fourthly, Luna-sol/rock is 1-1 for sure. Serperior might not even see any play for fear of Reshiram spam and catcher to get an easy prze off Reuniclus. Therefore, it may not even be NECESSARY at all.

Fifthly, Vileplume is a shaky tech. Even if you decide to use Oddish for Catcher bait, what's the point? You just burning unecessary resources, and for what? So you can prevent yourself from RCing into Feraligatr? Lock your own Communication to prevent you from getting a LEGEND piece? Lock your Revives which can be used to get Kyurems back? Prevent yourself from using Energy Retrieval to get water energy after losing a Kyurem? IMO, it hurts more than helps. I vote no Vileplume.

Sixthly...
3-1-3 Feraligatr Prime
4 Kyurem
2-2 CDL
1-1 Lunasol/Lunarock
Total: 17 pokemon
17 is actually not bad. If you feel comfortable with starting with Mantine at the start to search out your Feraligatr early, by all means add in 3. 20 is STILL an acceptable number. You could even add in a Cleffa or two and still be fine at 22. More Communication bait, and between Junk Arms and Communications, you shouldn't have to worry about getting unwanted pokes for Lostgar/Mewgar to lost zone away, anyways. In reality, the pokemon line isn't really much different from Reshiboar in terms of similiarities. Feraligatr=Emboar. Kyurem=Reshiram. CDL=Ninetales. That's the skeletal lineup for ya. No, Ninetales isn't the same as CDL or vise-versa, but what else are you going to use? Similiar lines... Different stratagy...

Sorry for the wall of text. ^^;

I like Cleffa better than Mantine for this. Kyurem's a basic, so you don't need Mantine to search it out, and Mantine's job is done after Feraligatr's set up, which can be done with trainers and supporters. Cleffa can wall for a bit and grab Energies and other cards out of your deck, for an energy-less attack and free retreat cost.

^^
The question was whether or not anyone has used him as a Proxy.

Why all this talk about LunaRock? Are you that worried about Serperior and Potion?

Has anyone actually tested with proxied Kyurems?
Posted with Mobile style...

I have been. Recently with DCL, but it kinda hurts set up, and the earlier you can get the pressure going the better this deck is. Not many decks are gonna come out of a turn two 30 spread, especially when Feraligatr's going to hit insanely hard the longer it takes for them to KO kyurem.

All in all, the hype is not just hype.

you would be correct-- he has not been released in japan yet
we've been using proxies, because the format here is much further ahead, so were able to more efficiently test how he will play
sorry if i caused confusion

Actually I have been testing KGL with it(3), it is a great card in case KGL can't be up by t2 and it is great late game. I use DCL in my KGL, GREAT for when you can use mooni invite and KO 2 or 3 pokemon for the win late game.

You use it because a) its basic over stage 2, b) it has 130 hp; same as feraligatr, and c) it does 30 to all, not 20, and d) it has a better weakness, and e) it's first attack is better (and cheaper), and f) it's spread attack is also cheaper and g) it has 2 retreat instead of 3...

So, yeah. Now you tell me the reasons why you would use Feraligatr HGSS over Kyurem...

Even if feraligatr HGSS can evolve from the same pokemon as Feraligatr prime, that doesn't change the fact that kyurem is better. 3-2-2 with kyurem instead of feraligatr hgss is better than 3-2-3 with the other feraligatr.
