Anyway good luck to all the teams, all the players, and to us (the judge staff) for making the event run as smooth as possible!
Yeah as long as TOM doesnt mess up CO events get started on time.

I will be bringing my computer to hook up to the internet and it has been built as a kisok for your use. The computer will have information about the event, side events, and other useful info. There will also be internet access to Pokegym, Pokemon.com, and the JAA site so you can take the qualifer test for Salt Lake or Denver if you still need to do so!

Remember I am running the GBA side event with the rules the same as JAA. However only 32 players altogether can get in due to time constraints. So in order to play you must have played or staffed in the main event and you must not be currently in the finals of the event as well. Sorry but its the best I can do with such a tight schedule. First come first serve basis too. Same goes for SSBM tournament which starts after the Pokemon GBA event.

After the Pokemon GBA event, I will start running booster draft tournaments at $20 per player to enter and you keep any cards you draft. There are three 8-player tournaments altogether. Additional prizes as well.

Once all other side events are completed and if there is any time left into the night, I will run free 8-player pods for Modified Constructed events to shoot for promos and other good prizes.

Bummer for me....it seems that I cannot make it down for Regionals...I'm very depressed...You can send me a box of chocolates or some roses for comfort if you wish...:frown:

Naw Patricia, just poking fun. I expect AZ to do well, as well as lots of other travelers coming to CO. They wouldn't be traveling if they weren't good.

We've got a Top 8 Worlds 2005 competitor from CO in the 10-under. Our only TopX from 2005 US Nats, Worlds, and Prof Cup won't be playing, because that's me! My kid will be my proxy.

I'll be spending the day tomorrow with the PTO finalizing everything for Sat. I'm sooooo glad you're running TOM Patricia. This will be our first big tournament in CO using TOM, so we've got our fingers crossed, but confidently so with you in front of the screen.

If any staff want to chat with the PTO tomorrow night, feel free. His store is open till 9pm. It's a GREAT store if you haven't visited it yet. Also, staff are welcome to drop by my home tomorrow night for a dip in the hot tub. Also, I have a couple beds available... first come first serve.

Naw Steve my turn to poke at you too LOL I dont get that opportunity much ! We will have a blast!!!

TOM is running just fine tonight..I have the new version uploaded and have run many test tournaments on it already.. WE ARE READY FOR REGIONALS!!!!

OH boy a Hot tub?? How close are you to the event? We plan on stopping by to see Dwayne on Friday nite too! See you there!!

I know the motel has a pool, maybe a hot tub (don't know tho). I just cleaned my spa yesterday. I'm about 8 miles from the motel, but closer to Dwayne's store. Maybe I'll see you at the store. While you're there, check on Dwayne's version of TOM to see if it's current. I believe it is.

See ya all in a few hours!!!!!

I will be coming to Colorado Springs around 4pm or so. I first have to watch the Deep Space Nine finale on Spike TV, Donate Plasma, pickup my crazy friend, Eric and then I will be heading up to Colorado Springs.

wow someone who wakes up early like me lol but GAME ON IS RIGHT!!!!!!!!! HTS locked and loaded ready to win

Phew, it feels good to be home! Talk about an exhausting day of judging, considering I didn't get any sleep the night before... (currently running 36 hours without sleep as I type...)

Special thanks to Dwayne, Steve P, and spookees (Patricia) for taking the necessary time for the planning and preparation to make this event a success! Special thanks also to Craig (mysterious trainer) for running the awesome side events as always! Also, thanks again Steve for your kind hospitality Friday night.

I'm kinda disappointed that only 98 people showed up to this, considering that we had 99 players in our State Championships. To be honest, I was expecting around 250 players, but where did they all go?

Anyway, it was good to see everyone down there again and continue having great times. I look forward to seeing everyone during the upcoming Gym Challenges!

Props:

- BIG Props to spookees for running TOM and convincing us that's a pretty good product if you know how to run it.

- Props to the AZ players for making the long trip, and to Blizzard for get so far with the surprise rogue-ish deck that was a top-deck away from making Top4.

- Props to the UT players who also made the long trip, and to CatS who went undefeated in swiss with her GatrEX/ChamEX deck but lost in Top8 to Zap-turn-dos.

- Props to MystTrainer for running great side events enjoyed by many, and for the ride home afterwards.

- Props to the PTO, Dwyane, for GREAT staff support and running an OUTSTANDING premier event.

- Props to Pete DeShaw for personally handling the Top4 paperwork, and for the MANY interesting conversations and insights.

- BIGGEST PROPS to the Colorado players who SWEPT Top4 in 11-14 and 15+ AND Top2 in 10-under, despite the OUTSTANDING players from AZ (Team Heat) and UT. Way to mix up the meta-game guys!!!! NO Colorado players played LBS!!!!!!

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Attendance at MtnW Regionals:

Total: 98 (same as CO States and about 20 short of expectations)

15+: 45 (1 short of Top 16)

11-14: 32 (1 short of 6 rounds)

10-under: 21 (2 short of Top 8)

So close, yet so far. At least it helped us finish the tournament a bit earlier!!!

Thanks to all that were there today. I had alot of fun, even with that loonnnnnngggg semi game 1.

Great job to all the players, thanks to the staff, and the computer for letting us run a really smooth event.

Props to all the staff.

Thanks Wayne for filling in at the last minute. You were priceless as Dwayne's Gopher Boy. Thanks for helping in the playoffs too. And thanks to your "better half" too for helping out during registration. Sorry she didn't do better in the tournament.

Thanks to ALL the age-group judges for your tireless efforts in making the matches run smoothly. Adrian and Chris for keeping the 15+ rulings inline with the Compendium. Andrea and Anders for staying on task in the "other" room when your daughter and leaguers respectively were playing in the "main" room, and doing so well. Cathy and Luke for filling in at the last moment and driving "so" far to help out.

Thanks to Liam and Paul to take time off from YuGiOh to help out with out deck checks. We couldn't have started on time without you.

Thanks to Patricia for taking me out to dinner on Friday night to Joe's Crab Shack AND treating me.

Props to KevinH for making the funniest comment of the tournament. Saturday was his 17th b-day. In the semi-finals when his opponent JoshR was "slaughtering" him, instead of getting depressed, he humorously shouted,"This is the WORST birthday present EVER!" Regardless, he came back and won 3rd place in the consolation match.

Wow what a nice event!!

Thanks Dwayne for inviting me up to run TOM for Regionals. Now you guys can run it yourself with no worries. Always glad to help you out. Thank you so much for the hospitality you, SteveP and Craig showered us with upon our arrival.

Dwayne: Thanks for having us! You are the best, it was a pleasure working with you. If anyone has the chance to get to Colorado springs visit his store its awesome!

SteveP: Thanks for driving us to the mall on Friday nite and staying with us while we did some necessary last minute shopping (so cold in Colorado)! Dinner was great at JOES too! Maybe next time we will take you up on the hot tub offer! :)

Craig (MystTrainer) : Thanks for running thru the mall with us, you did a great job running those side events too. (See I kept my promise and didnt mention the 'grandma driving' thing! LOL)

The rest of the staff Judges:(Cathy, Luke, Adrian, Chris, Andrea, Anders, Wayne, Adrian) : You kept things running so smooth and lots of fun.

Team Heat: Wow what a great showing up here: Blizzard, Lugias_Realm, bangiras, bulbachar, spookees jr.,Wes, lil flurry and latioschaser. 5 of you driving 13 hours to Colorado, whew! your dedication to this game is incredible!! you all played some great games, well except for Lugias_Realm who didnt show for his last round (something about relatives showing up with chocolate, he couldnt resist LOL) Thank you latioschaser for running to the STAPLES at the last minute to get more ink for the printer - the spare cartridges i had were defected (very weird indeed). Wes- NO more holiday inn cups for you EVER! The stacked pyramid surprise in front of our room was a shock to say the least, you are crazy!(dont know how you got them to stay stacked up to almost the ceiling) LOL

Utah players: Andrea (UT PTO) drove in (9 hour trip) with 7 players. Its always a pleasure working with you. I cant remember one of the older guys name in your group but please thank him for running to the supermarket for us (I still owe him moola). Forrest - looks like you and my son hit it off great. I still owe you a match! See you at Nationals too (yes i will bring more deck boxes).

LOL that was great. I had a lot of fun but coming in as 8th seed and taking out Cat who went 6-0, all day i knew josh was going to be my hardest opponet. Good Job staff the turny ran really smooth, not to many errors. It was really cool to finish third on my bday!
