as some of you know, with D/P A new rule is coming out - your opponent can draw prizes from killing fossils!!! That is A complete OUTRAGE and should be removed!!

Discuss.

let me get this straight:

You play a fossil stall deck and thats why you hate the rule right?

I would agree anyway.

Perhaps this rule will be balanced out with later sets?

Perhaps fossil evolutions will become more powerful in future expansions?

Perhaps cards such as Mysterious/Root/Claw fossil will be printed later as Basic Pokemon instead of Trainers, thus allowing for fossil decks to set up more efficiently?

At least give the new sets and rules a chance to get out there before you go crying about new rules. There's always a good reason for new rules...

Zapper, nah I don't, but it would save people making every second board "omg omg h4x h4x br1ng f0221l 84c|< z0mg!11!111!!111"

there may be A good reason for everything, but when it comes to pokemon, there isnt, trust me on that.
like not banning Neo Gen slowking for instance? yes there was A very good reason for that, "we are making so much money off of it!!" (omg that is the best reason EVER!) and yet they ban Sneasel because it is too powerful...well it wasnt......compared to Slowking.

so so far, thats 2 decisions, and both were bad.

"but zomg that was WOTC days!"

oh...POP have had there share of bad decisions, Like not banning all the cards for Mercury (I mean, copy right infringment!!! the Gardevoir looks like Paris Hilton and the name is being ripped off of A planet! thats 2 copy right infringments!!!) and don't get me started on the whole Time Win debacle, cause thats all it is! A debacle!

After speaking to those who played at worlds, it's my understanding that Shedstall mirrors ruined the LCQ last year, good ridance to 'em. Honestly, the sky isn't falling!

Well what PTCG labs made to make this ruling is all fine. Some hate it and some will get over it. At least we know it very early about the new fossil rule and as time goes by we will get use to it. I myself will make this ruling as a challenge.

My hunch that the new fossil pokemon as well as all of the fossil type pokemon will be mo fierce.

TBH, I'm surprised no-ones petitioned yet about drawing turn 1, no trainers turn 1, making dark/metal decks more broken by making them effectively basic energy.

With all these new mechanics, they need to do something to balance it out. We'll not see the true effects until they come into place, and its likely by that time that the only current decks that use Fossils as a main staple (Poli/Shedstall) will be rotated.

I would like to see this. It doesn't really make a lot of sense to me to treat fossils as Pokemon in one case (drawing a prize) but not in another (deck/discard search).

Isn't the ruling still in place that decks must include at least 1 Basic Pokemon, not including Fossils? Treating them fully as basics may make deck construction for Fossil decks a little easier.

shedinja mirror matches didnt ruin the LCQ... the longest match of the night went to a LUDI mirror match. Read will hungs tourney report. after time was called the shedstall match lasted 10-15 mins.. but the ludi match was about another 20+ minutes

Count me in. A Pokemon that has no attacks and can't retreat (and < "Lonesome" and "Disconect") isn't worthy of a prize.

I disagree with the basic metal thing. I hate that because metal decks will become more popular and stuff.

Petition? Please tell me this is a joke. Try petitioning for humans growing wings and learning to fly, and I think you'll have a higher chance of success. :)

That new rule was introduced in Japan several months ago, and I can assure you that the game didn't get ruined by it ... But Shedistall and Lati@s decks took a severe beating - well, they became completely unplayable, so the biggest change this rule did for the regular player is that the Shedinja, Latias ex d and Latios ex d in his/her binder dropped majorly in value. :p

Online Petition? Don't you people know that these things never work. Stop wasting your time witht hem.

Try to read Tego's post. If the rule didn't ruin Japan then it's not gonna ruint it in here.

Theres also new fossil pokemon in d/p which might be made uberly strong thus justifying the rule change.
 I agree the current fossil pokemon we have- kabutops etc, become totally unplayable, but obv. there is stuff coming to make the rule work.
If i were you, a "lock pls" name change would be in order.......
