Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Pokemon TCG Online multiplayer build delayed until 8/22

I don't mind saying that I am impatient. That just means you guys did something right with the beta. Think of it as a compliment.

Am I missing something here? The scheduled maintenance time is in no way a DEADLINE. They are simply telling us that they are working on it from said time until said time.

Pretty weak stuff IMO.

in b4 "omgz they dont owe u anythin!1 B patien."

I have a little card that came in a booster pack that advertised that I can use said card online that says otherwise.

The end time updates need to stop. I understand things are going wrong and their predictions aren't accurate due to unexpected problems arising, and I appreciate the hard work being put into the game. However, the updates are counterproductive at this point. It's been pushed back so often that the end time is doing nothing but frustrating users.

Changing it to 'TBA' or giving a wide time frame instead would be much less frustrating for players who are waiting in anticipation for the release, only to watch it get pushed back consistently. Much of the anger and frustration here seems to be related to that rather than it not being ready soon enough.

Isn't the logical state after maintenance actual functionality?

This is exactly what I've been saying and what most professional outfits would do. I don't want to be "the hater", but these guys are not handling this like pros.

Thats not the problem though, it did say code redemption DRX August the 21st, now we are heading into or already into August 23. It would be wise for them to stop updating the time maintenance is running. People are using it because for the most part other then the few updates Prof made on here people have no clue what is going on in the past 48 hours.

"It will hopefully be up later tonight"

I'm going to quote this a week from now when the game still isn't up and people are still trying to tell us to be patient

The release candidate was just pushed to the servers. Over the next few hours, the developers, moderators, QA team and TPCi staff will be testing this build full bore. If everything checks out at the end of this testing window, the game will come out of maintenance and multiplayer will be available to the public.

Unfortunately, we're encountering some failures when attempting to redeem code cards in the game client and on the website. We feel that releasing the game client to the public in it's current state will do more harm than good, as there is the potential for code redemption failures would likely affect a large portion of the community.

The game and website will remain in maintenance overnight while the development team continues to work on resolving these code redemption failures. The developers, moderators, QA team and TPCi staff will begin testing again tomorrow morning, and will continue to test until we're confident that code redemptions are working properly.

We appreciate your patience and understand the frustration that the community is feeling right now; everyone involved in this project is feeling it too. I'll post another update in this thread as soon as I've got more information to share.

I am really pissed that I've been waiting for 2 days, but after the first day delay I've just lowered my expectations. For all others having the same issue, I suggest this. 1PM PST tomorrow? Don't count on it. I'm just hoping the client is up and running before classes start for me.

Hey Prof_Mathis, want to relieve all of our frustrations?! Get rid of the time updates on the maintenance. It feels like what you guys are doing is tempting us with the big candy bars and then taking it all away from us at the last second. It's not the timeframe that kills me, it's the fact that you add more time JUST BEFORE THE WINDOW EXPIRES that drives me mad.

Why does this feel like yesterday's message copied and pasted with some different words? It's getting really frustrating and dull. First it was the 21st, then today at 12, then 1, then 3, then 5, then 8, now it's tomorrow at 1PM? This isn't even fair to us anymore, Mike. We're all waiting here drooling to spam our codes into the box and play with friends, and having the entire community at your forums shut down these past two days doesn't make us feel better. Having to run around to places like Reddit or here for the latest news posting is a buzz-kill.

No offense Mike, but keeping an entire community at your forums in the dark for two whole days is inexcusable. Delaying the game like this is inexcusable. At least bring back the community in the meantime! I'll be happy if it's up by the end of the month, because at this point I won't be surprised if it is not, considering that gems are about 8 months late? You have to surely see where we're coming from with our frustrations, as we're just seeing a bunch of broken promises.

UnderPromise, and OverDeliver.

This is one thing that smaller developers tend to get wrong more often than not. Not like they really have a choice.

You guys are doing a fantastic job! I would have just like to see you build in a little bit of extra time for testing and re-coding than at present. If the players were told initially that you're working towards a Wednesday release, then have one delay until Friday with an explanation, I doubt there would be this much antagonistic feeling from the base.
