Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

List of City Championship Locations/Dates

I know PUI was looking at a rewards program for the Professors that help judge the City Championships, but I have not see anything on it.

For Global equalty, all (P)TO benefits should be public.
Some of you seem to be forgotten what happened at the pre-releases in Europe.
NO boosterbox for the first price, not a single piece of product for the Judges or (P)TO.
If you want this game to be played and honoured worldwide the same, you should publish it.
Now Local (National) distributors are making their own rules and because this info is not public people are being cheated/subordinated. (P)TO's overhere do the same job as overseas, so why should they be treated/awarded different. Players overhere play the same game, why don't they get the same pricesupport.

What's the problem. Who cares if the amount of his "paycheck" is published. The only one who can spend the money of the paycheck is the owner of it and in case of being jalous on that check, get yourself the same job.

The same applies for (P)TO's, If you want to be one,you can be one and "earn" the same benefits. You have to do the (P)TO job.

Los Angeles, CA - 3/6 Ruben F. Salazar Park@11:00am
Due to some scheduling conflicts, this event might end up changing Date and Location. I'll get back to you with the final details as soon as I get them ironed out.

Also, due to scheduling conflicts, Fountain Valley CA and Riverside CA will be switching dates. Riverside will be on Feb 21 and Fountain Valley (O.C.) will be on Feb 28 (pending PUI approval).

Thanks,

I just talked to Sensei about the email that I got from Pokemon USA, Inc. So here it is Pokemon Organized Play will be sending Volunteer Support Stuff along with the Prizes for the City Championship.

That's interesting. So, who are these "Volunteer Support Staff?" PUI employees, or carefully selected Professors? Maybe they're scouting us out to see which places are best for the State Championship and/or Gym/Stadium Challenges.

Hmmm

Without knowing what the VIP package is, I hesitate to join this post. However, I know for a fact the post would be shorter if previous CC winners were not allowed to play in another championship. My only concern is for the states with only 1 CC. Imagine this, you live in Michigan and there is only one CC. It is near the boarder and folks from 3 other states could easily make the drive. Say a CC winner from Ohio wins in Michigan. Which state championship does he go to? Ohiio of course, it's closer. So @ the Michigan State Championship, no one gets the VIP. Does that make sense? Am I missing something here?

That's interesting. Not sure what that might be, but all the judges AND the organizer will share at our CC. Let's face it, we all got into this game for the fun of it. Those of us that applied for a CC WANTED to do this. We wanted to do it without hearing anything about compensation, or perhaps you could say "incentives". Those of us here doing the CC for Barrie, Ontario Canada are all good friends. If we desire to help each other, while we judge a tournament to help even more, then so be it. That doesn't mean that others should be compelled to do the same, perhaps guilted into something they don't want to do. On a side note, I figure I've given away a lot of my money, my time, and my cards, maybe even more than anyone here in the Barrie area. I could be wrong on that, ... in fact I even hope I'm wrong on that. It's nice that some recognition is finally happening. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I deserve this, but I certainly appreciate it none the less. If either of the other professors in our league was accepted to organize this city championship, I'm sure we'd share anyway. I just feel that what each individual tournament organizer does is his/her business. There's my 2 cents, for what it's worth.

Stuff, not Staff. Man, am I relieved. One letter makes a WORLD worth of difference.

psychodad, I thought I heard someone mention that CC VIP packages would be delivered to the respective State Championship in which the CC occured. That would certainly make things interesting for those who drove "all night" just to play and win a CC. They'd have to do it again just to pick up their VIP package. Wouldn't it be funny if that same person won a CC "on the road," then later won their local CC? Because of the single-VIP policy, they'd have to go back on the road to pick up their VIP package, if they wanted to collect.

So, maybe there is a bit of a "de-incentive" for players to win multiple championships, especially if they don't get to "pick and choose" where they can pick up their one-and-only-one VIP package.

From what the PTO's were told, the VIP package goes to the State Championship in which the player lives. I am kinda curious what happens if you are from a state without a state championship. Since PTO's are running the State Championships, what about the states without one? I mean I know there are states that haven't had prerelease tournaments. So that means they have no PTO. So what do those players do?

Oh and Rainbowgym, we can't publish what the PTO's get for the tournaments, it is against our contract with Pokemon USA. They probably should have had the TO's for the CC sign the same thing.

From what I was told what PUI would like is that if a state has even one City Championship then it will have a State Championship. Even if that means having PTOs from other area come and run it. This might change from what I was told last month though, but that is what I have heard so far.

That is logical. I mean kinda dumb to have a City Championship and not have a State to go to. Hopefully what you heard is true.

So, has anyone that applied between the original deadline and the new one (yesterday) heard back on their apps?? :)

I applied for 3 more (after the original one I applied for) City Championships since the original deadline and haven't heard back on any of them.

So do I, and Im sure it will happen, but Im sure PUI is not worring about it for the reason they have the City Championships and Team Magma VS Team Aqua Prerelease to get through first before starting on how State is going to work.
