Manaphy TRU Giveaway

Well like I said one place (near Lakeline Mall) said check the big store in Round Rock. I went there & the guy in the electronics section did not know what I was talking about. I am thinking of calling a few days before the event. It is on Sept. 29th right?

Of course I could just avoid the mess, and "borrow" a 2nd DS for about 5-10 minutes, since I do have Pokemon Ranger, and did do the secret quest.
 
The only reason i'd do the event is to get the Cherish ball for no other reason than to try and complete the special items you can get. I already have Manaphy from the Pokemon Ranger transfer. If a lot of People already have Manaphy from Ranger, it would mean possibly getting more than one using different carts. I had a friend who did the Mew Event for me, and because they had few people at first. She was able to get three for me.

Potentially stupid question, but I assume you have to have Mystery Gift unlocked in order to get this, yes?

So no walking into TRU, buying a new DS and a copy of D/P, and downloading Manaphy right off the bat. I know a parent that's planning to try that, I'd like to let him know beforehand so his kid isn't sorely disappointed.
 
Go to Jubilife city to the TV Center. on the second floor standing next to a lady is a man that want a two word saying. First time say "EVERYONE HAPPY" " second time "WI-FI CONNECTION" He will enable the Mystery Gift option.

Well that probably wasen't nesessary because for the Mew one my friend wanted a Mew and he couldnt't come so I took saphire game(this was back when I was DSless), asked the guy if I could get one on another game I had and he did it for me. I didn't even have to get back in for the second one. Bottom line: Bring more than one D/P game cartridge to obtain more than one of the event special event if the only requirement is having mystery gift? At the last one I heard that you had to have beaten the game and maybe done a few other things and I couldn't help but feel sorry for the guy in front of me who was saying he hadn't had the game to long and he hadn't beaten it yet.:frown:
 
Never mind, I found it.

I think I will be calling the local TRUs next week to check the status.

Unless it's on Toysrus.com.
 
I went into my TRU today, and the guy in the games section knew nothing about it. He said he'll ask the Nintendo rep if he ever sees that person. He also told me to keep checking back. So I'll probably call Wed. and then again on Fri. if they still don't know anything. If worse comes to worse, I'll show up Sat and hope for the best. I've got lots of kids from my league coming as well, so I hope this doesn't fall through.

Why is this so unorgainzed? Seems like the NP ad was premature? They should do a mini campaign. I mean, having a single poster up that says get a special event Pokémon on Sept 29th would do a lot of good.

If anyone finds anything else out, please post it here.

...at the very LEAST, upper corporate management should inform the local TRU managers to let their employees know about this. That should have occurred, oh, like 6 weeks ago! It seems that the only way the store-level employees are finding out about this is through their customers!
 
Just looked on www.Toysrus.com they had the promo thing for the event. But when you click it all that comes up is an ad for a DS sale.

Noon-3 Pm? That seems like a rather short period to do something like this.
 
Pokemon.com has information on it...("Manaphy.com" just covers Pokemon Ranger.)

You don't need to unlock Mystery Gift - it will take care of it for you.

You could walk in, buy a DS, buy Diamond or Pearl, but you'd need to get your Poke-Dex inside the game before you can download. (15-20 minutes?)
 
They did have info on the Pokemon site on what is needed for the Manaphy Event this Sat. But i don't see it now.

Edit: www.Pokebeach.com has a lot of new Info on the Manaphy Event this Sat, we now get Electivire from PBR Yay!!!

Battle Roads is at that time. Trying to figure out how to swing both. Maybe I could drop the games off before hand and pick them up later. Think the Manager will go for that?
 
I think Pokemon.com has it as one of their flash banners...it won't be up there every time, but a % chance.
 
Okay, I was able to get the Manaphy download a couple of days ago, so I will answer what question I can.

Nope, it is being done using the DS Wifi through Mystery Gift and took me less then 30 sec to download it. If you have yet to get Mystery Gift on your system it will down load it for you. Also you can talk to the Producer on the 3rd floor of Jubilife TV. First time say "EVERYONE HAPPY" " second time "WI-FI CONNECTION" He will enable the Mystery Gift option.

Natures are random also. I know some websites say that you can not pick the nature of the Manaphy, this is not true. Just save your game before you talk to the person with the green shirt located the Poke Shop. He will give you the Manaphy, look it over and see if it is the Nature you want. If not just turn off your DS and try again. Next time you talk with him your Manaphy could have a different nature. I have done this about 10 times with mine just to make sure it works. Once you get the nature you want just save the game.

Red Scarf: It boosts the "Cool" aspect of the holder in a Contest.

Nintendo Reps are not running these events. Each store was sent a box with the download + other give aways like stickers & bookmarks. At each location the store will put a special DS game in, start it up, and it will send out the signal to your DS to download the Manaphy. The instructions also say that Monday morning UPS is instructed to pick up all the Manaphy games, so the stores do not keep them.
