@ufff: First Off on Cursegar. Usually They wind up filling the bench without a second tomb which means I can just regice them out of the way to maintain trainers. The funniest thing I found was during states. I used my azelf bind to slow down their energy attachment by a turn by forcing spiritomb to attach, got my t2 setup and started taking prizes. Half way through, My bind broke due to level down but I still had 140 Hp (I was playing temple for states over initiative). I played out the rest of the game with no level X and no bind yet was able to take all my prizes from the spiritombs he kept sending up. Pretty sure I set up a second regi as well if I remember right.
During regionals my second loss was to cursegar because it took me 7 turns to top deck a regi. Here's something interesting..I basically came back from behind and wound up taking 3 prizes with drag off by abusing his inability to retreat. Dialga hurt him as well due to the fact that i was able to shut off tomb and use my trainers to keep a lock for level down. If I'd have started up faster, Having taken 4 prizes by the end of the game on THAT kind of setup, I'm pretty sure I could've beaten him if my starting hand was better.
Now at Jumpluff...My first problem with your statement is the whole sacrificing every turn thing...I don't know who played you but I would be planning out every sacrifice to make sure I stay ahead. Mathematically speaking, Regi outlasts Jumpluff easier than Pluff can outlast being constantly OHKOed. That's assuming Jumpluff even hits the field. All my matches with Jumpluff at regionals had to deal with me dragging off their hoppips and then binding their powers before let loosing their hands. Ask Kayle, he played me with Jumpluff while teaching me to play redshark so I could battle meesie, the matchup isn't very favorable, at least while I'm playing so far as I've seen. I pretty much have a perfect record against jumppluff both in and out of tournament play.
@Jason: Your comment was so Unnecessary it made me groan. If Gigas was just binder candy I wouldn't have done so well with it this year throughout a whole tourney season. Maybe it's the player that makes the deck. Sure I can get some baaaaad starts, but I've almost always been able to recover from them in some way or another.
@Dennis: Though I mostly just smack cursegar around, you are right as I did this to catch up in my second round at regionals (see above).
@Bohn: I love Pokedrawer. I'm just not balsey enough to take things out of the list to accommodate it
And here I though the article was off to a good vibe after settling the whole luxchomp affair...
