Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Why Team Galactic's Wager needs errata

Which takes a minute in itself.

Eh, I guess that'd apply more to a top 8 or something, where it's easier to get a Judge.

what can they prove?

They don't prove anything, they watch over the RPS and determine whether or not a redo is in order. In other words, instead of letting your opponent whine and complain you into a redo, an impartial authority supervises to determine fairness.

The problem with using high roll to replace RPS is that you have an number you can't win with and a number you can't lose with. Neither of those occurances happen in RPS. Solution? One beats six. Or we could try the following:

1=2 (Rock); 3=4 (Paper); 5=6 (Scissors)

5-6>3-4
3-4>1-2
1-2>5-6

Seems overly complex though.

EDIT: It also reduces it to a competition of complete luck.

Had no problems with RPS at the PR today. No need to ruleslawyer the card. Play it as it says. IF you try to cheat..........well, we have ways to deal with you!

Seriously though what would happen if one player used pencil? What they get a caution for stalling or something? What if they claimed they thought pencil was a viable option, because technically it is a cultural variation on Rock Paper Scissors, even if the game is called Rock Paper Scissors, some people include Pencil as like a bonus option. This needs an official ruling.

I'm sure they'd go by the idea of "if you are dumb enough to use something other than the 3 choices in the title, you lose". :thumb:

In general I'm not so sure about the whole R-P-S idea. There's the reflex thing and the fact that some kids probably don't even know what it is. This mostly applies to the Juniors division and even possibly other countries.

Yeah, so I tried out the "switch your play in 1/2 a sec thing" a couple of times, and it's very easy.
All you have to do is be about 1/100th of a second behind your opponent, and they will reveal there play, and you have about 1/2 a sec to instantly change yours.

Try it out.
Errata now plz.

There's noting wrong with RPS.
Heck, it was a GOOD idea. Why? It adds even more strategy to the game.
There's a definite strategy to RPS - for example, most men lead with scissors, most women lead with rock (I may have the rock and scissors confused there), and paper is the least commonly used.
Keep Galactic's Bet the way it is.

I always do random. I have no leads.

RPS is how it should be played.

I will always play Rock

psyche psyche PSYCHE

This is def. not meant to be a 50/50 card, its a challenge card. Its a new element for the TCG and I think they should introduce more physical elements, like throwing/catching cards, etc, draw variables.

Unown E. GG.

Now you wish it was RPS.
I thought of that as well, but your just doing an alternative way to find the outcome of something. You would be using a die anyway,so technically no coins were flipped.

I think the best solution to this is to create 2 different colored dice with 2 r's,2 p's and 2 s's like someone said earlier. That way your still playing rps and theres no possible cheating involved. The only problem I see with this is introducing it into worlds with alot on non-english speaking people.

Ugh.

DP6 will probably have a card based on who can recite the most digits of Pi.

if one of my opponents says we do dice instead, its a no
they act stubborn, i call over the judge
do as the card said and stop whining

Sorry, but it's very difficult for a human to truly do anything in a random sequence. More true for a longer sequence, though, whereas RPS will probably only last a couple of rounds...

posting kittens is there way of spamming there super great new deck cuz they are the cooooooolest deck makers EVER! ...lame. any way i think people are looknig at it wrong RPS is just a way to randomise AND make you write long complaints on the board about it. honestly if you ever try to involve a judge they will tell you to roll a die.
