Problem #2: Watching G4 in the first place...
i got a good laugh out of that.

anyway, $500 for just about anything is a con in my book. they might as well offer some kind of financing or payment plan where i can make monthly payments, because i am not draining $500 out of my bank account to play video games (unless they cure cancer or prevent aging).

Good to see my comedy career is looking good so far...

Agreed...

Play DVDs and CDs in the same system? I can do that for $100 by purchasing a DVD player...

Play poorly made or overrated games? I can do that for free by going to my friends' house :p

Do they offer lay away plans at best buy?
I wish. If they did, I would actually purchase more things in general

(With that said, Apple iBook, here I come)

Ok this thread is getting redundent with PS2 and Xbox junkies debating over which systeam will be the best when really it all depends on what you want. Like politics video games are opnion based. Whatever types of games you favor depends on which systeam you like.

For example: PS2 Have epic single player games that are made for the deeper gamer. Xbox has few choices but still has one of the greatest shooter games of all time Halo. Halo is what made the systeam and is why it has been made into a bad*** multiPlayer console. Nintendo : Good for the younger generation and on ocasion the older generation with amazing games such as the wildly popular Legend of the Zelda series.

So don't debate over which is best before they even come out just wait and choose depending on what you enjoy the most. Wiether it is a epic single player game with amazing story line or a multiplayer shooter which is tons of fun just don't debate over which is better until they get here!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly I think u should for PS3 cause the 360's only games that will come out that are good r shooters unless u like shooters. However the best way to go is PS3 for now. Also they don't even know if Halo 3 is coming out this year!

You can't really make this statement. I have seen it posted and read about Hundreds of software developers that Microsoft has signed on to develop games other than shooters. To compare it with the original is just blind.

Blaze is right, pointless to debate about it. But i think the last several posts really arent debating anymore. I'd rather just see 1 thread just containing News about all 3 of them

I got a xbox 360 for Christmas,It's awsome and i've already finished gun on easy and I'm doing it on normal right now.It also has good annimation and you can downloud CD's.

I say buy neither and go for the Revolution. Here are my reasons:

XBox 360 doesn't have full backwards capabilities and the problems that the original XBox still has. Adding to that someone is suing Microsoft because the product is "defective".

I never like Playstations because the game controllers are just so wrong for me. I'm a button masher at times and having the gamepad to be a bunch of buttons is a REALLY bad idea. Good example is that I had a friend who had a PS1 and I was playing "WWF Warzone" and I was trying to do that move, but I couldn't because the button was worn down and I couldn't do the direction it needed to do in order so I can do THAT move. Also adding to the controller issue is that the controller now seems like you need a degree in rocket science in order to work one. Also the PS3 is a real risk right now since the "Blu-Ray" tech they're using for it Sony is trying to push as the standard vs HD-DVD and the last time they tried something like that and failed is when they try to make Betamax a standard. Also indy developers are getting a raw deal since Sony is charging them insane amounts of money to make games for them.

I'm saving up my money and going for the Revolution for the following:
Controller sounds interesting
Nintendo is catching up to XBox and Sony even though Nintendo DID make a Modem for the Gamecube...just never caught on.
Big reason for me: Nintendo said it was fully compatible with not only Gamecube games, but Gamecube accessories and MAYBE memory cards.
Download service Nintendo is offering by paying a small fee you can download ANY game Nintendo ever made to the Revolution. From the first Nintendo system (Kid Icarus anyone) to Nintendo 64 Games and some of these games MIGHT be re-done by Nintendo.

Does anyone have this? Im thinking of buying one, can anybody give me there opinions on it?
IS it a good buy or should i just wait until PS3

King of Demons: Microsoft said it is working on getting backwards copatibility with ALL xbox games(they already have a large list it seems). Unless more than 90% of the xbox 360's released crash and catch fire, the product is not defective(I mean all the xbox 360's) and if it does, they let you send it in for free and send you a new one.
ChubbyChilupa135: There are awsome games for the xbox that are not shooters. If i remember correctly, IGN gave the award of best game 2004 to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic(one of the best RPGs EVA).

what the heck?? when some of the early ps2s had "disc read errors," everybody peed their pants and said that the system was garbage, but when the xbox360 catches on fire, it's only a minor inconvenience?? i would say if more than 5% to 10% of the products have a problem, then something is wrong. imagine if 5% of the food you ate was contaminated or if 5% of the games you bought had a defect. that's really quite a lot, when you think about the quantities being produced. if a million units were sold, 5% of that would be 50,000 units.

Just because the XBOX doesn't have FF and Kingdom Hearts doesn't mean it can't do RPG's. Just the ones I've played, I loved Dark Alliance, KOTOR, and Fable. The Hobbit wasn't a bad game either. And ElderScrolls III: Morrowind was a GOTY for cripes sake. And even sports games, I prefer the Madden series over any other. I guarantee this will carry on, on the 360 in the near gaming future.

-This is actually hilarous because if you think about it you are all rating a ps3 which right now does not even exist in the retail world...... Ok I know you can read about it and everything but hey do you buy everything you read about....I don't think so! Where I am going with this is don't compare a system to another before it is actually released! I have owned a ps2 and IMO was crap, it was resold within approx 1 month of when I purchased it as I don't think buying memory cards for a system just to save your game is needed. We also own the GCN which is a fabuloous system for young and old allike. and Then the xbox...well IMO it was great, built in memory and new games coming out all the time, if you notice most games that come out now adays is made for all systems so regardless of how many games ps2 has do you honestly play those old crappy games? Probably not! Where I am going is I can rate these systems from my point of view because I have owned them all! And I actually just might get a ps3 after I hear what they are like , If I hear they are alot like the ps2 without built in hard drive then there is a slim chance it will grace our doorsteps. I know xbox360 has had its problems but since I bought mine I have had no problems. I know there are some things I don't like about it but hey most of these problems have been solved and I can get live updates anytime by downloading then on my PC and then to the system.

Right now I would have to say you can't compare a system without first trying both. I just hope that ps3 will be as good as they say and with bluetooth technology it just might be better? Wait and see.

Mike

fable is one of the few xbox games i was interested in, but now it's on pc anyway

as for the ps2 library being full of "old crappy games," i am appalled. the ps2 has shown that sony is not afraid to allow new ideas in games. there are a number of genre-bending games available on the ps2. check out "rez" or "katamari damacy" or "shadow of the colossus" (to name 3). those games brought something new to the table, something you can't find in your average rpg or fps. now, i bought a ps2 because i never owned a ps1, and i was a huge final fantasy fan. today, i have almost no time to devote to an rpg (and little desire), but i still have a library of games that i love. so, please don't question a system's game library. each system has had its fair share of blockbuster hits and underground successes, i'm sure.

Indeed it does... *drools at Street Fighter Aniversary Collection*

That game is probably the only reason why I would bother with a PS2, seeing that it was one of the very few 2D games that Sony will ever allow on their system =/

But if I were to get another system, I certainly wouldn't want it for the blockbuster hits. "GTA: Another City," "Madden-the-same-as-last-year," and "Dried out mascots" (<- Sonic and Crash) just don't appeal to me... =/

Guitar Hero? Give that to me, and I'll play to my hearts content, because that's innovation right there...

Jesus you people who think Xbox are just to stuck up to wait for the PS3 or what the call it here in America (The better systeam) Earlier I tired being resonable I about saying depending on games you like is what systeams you like but now crack junkies like you keep on posting on fact based crap trying to boost the Xbox up.
I am sorry but quite frankly I think the Xbox360 sucks all it does is play games that have been handed down from the computer and they can't even compare to there computer counter part the are downgraded crap for mindless gamers to dribble over. I am not just some PS2 lover defending his systeam.
I am a an all around gamer who is sick of you guys posting crap about the PS2, which was five time better than the original Xbox. And from my stand point the PS3 is going to be the top console for yet another console war.

I am not saying the Xbox360 is bad I am just saying your computer can do the same thing.
