Anyone reading this who went to a prerelease today, PLEASE scan your cards and upload them. IF EVERYONE does this, we SHOULD have all scans soon

A set consisting of 80% reprints, with the "super rare awesome cards of doom" having identical copies in the main set? They are incassing Lost World in a set of fail. If Lost World wasn't in this, this would be a bigger financial flop than ET for the Atari 2600. I wouldn't be surprised if they put less time into this set than Warshaw put into ET.
 
i guess they spent as much time on this set as the average card/board gamer does on hygiene in 1 day...

I never said it was an "amazing reprint".

In fact, I said "I don't want to oversell this".

People need to improve their reading comprehension.

I was talking about Smeargle.

I never "took back" the amazing. Someone else said "amazing" and my response was "did I say 'amazing'?"
Meaning, no, it's not "amazing".

It is, as I said, a card that people play in competitive decks.
And it is.
 
I like Smeargle's new art too. One of the few cards i'll venture to obtain fromt he set. Umbreon ain't abd either, though i like the themedeck holofoil style. Ninetales is kinda worse imo.

I'm really curious as to how the process of this set building went. Because someone had to think up making a reprint set of recent sets excluding powerful Prime cards, Jumpluff, Vileplume, Sunflora, Weavile, Torterra and an expected Rare Candy with alt artowrk, and then tack ont he idea of priting japanese shiny promos as non shiny holofoil rares. All this after including Lost World in this otherwise garabage set to ensure some competitve player sales rate. And then take league printed/UD Houndoom and include him too. I mean, that's just a lot of negativity shoved into one set, and you'd think someone would've been a little more on our side than throwing in Smeargle and Ninetales.
 
Admittedly, 85% of the art in this set IS pretty. Non-Shiny Groudon somehow looks awkward though, and I'm never a fan of the stock Sugimori art...but most of it really is done nicely.

Its just a shame they couldnt divert 20% from the art department to the cards department. Would've made for a 100% better set.
 
Does anyone think that once Poke-Turn, Energy Gain, Gyarados SF and Machamp SF are out of the format, that the Pokemon in this set will become more playable? I list those 4 cards because they seem to be the key components that allow many of the current top decks to hit fast and hard. I am sure other cards could be added to the list and some might argue that Machamp should not be on the list. Those points aside, what do people think?

I also appreciate that many players just don't like this set based on the fact that many of these cards are just different art versions of cards they already own.
