I don't see Professor Rowan on that list or Rival. I like both those cards and think they work great.

I saw this early and had not commented before but wanted to say that I am glad of the changes. The only Holon cards I would really like to see back that are going away is Holon Farmer and Lass. Transciever is nice and DS was my second set to get when I started. Have to say I was told that the Holon stuff was crap but was all I had when I started so I made do. Did not have the Holon Engine since was learning but did use Transciever and VS Seeker in the same deck.

I am very happy with the changes because I changed to DP Pokemon right after the first Pre-Release I was at. I used one deck since that had Pokemon other than DP but that was because I had to borrow it when I thought was going to be playing but it was a mix of DP and others.

I applaud the official announcement this soon. Makes for future planning much easier. Will have to wait and see what happens with the fall BRs. Can't wait to see the new decks.

I going to miss the farmer. Hey delcatty ex , come here.

D/P2 has another Fire X that may or may not be as good as Infernape X.

What will be the sets that they play in Japan after Worlds?

aade8: I guess all the Pidgeots, Rocket's Admins, etc that are in my rotated out binders dont mean a thing to you either. Yes, you have to spend $$ to keep up with the rotations. Makes new combos to play, plus keeps the format fresh. On the business side (which Nintendo/PUI is DUH!), rotating sets means to play = buying new product!

I'm in europe and used the pokepedia for the search...

Professor Rowan is missing from pokepedia, as is Rival. Rowan is a good draw card, I'm not so sure about Rival.

Ive added the two cards you mention to my list.

So will POP be reimbursing those of us who spent money on their crappy cards so we can make decks, only to have them rotated out instantly? Does anyone have any idea how much it costs to put together a metanite+electivire deck these days?

No, really, POP owes me a A LOT of money. I quit this stupid game right now. How many set's does japan have that're legal? And they get 2 more before worlds? Blasphemy. POP's just out to make more money so they cut WAY more sets than nessisary so they can rip us off.

Let's see, cut out 50% of the legal cards, and then raise the price on legal cards, it goes hand in hand. POP has ruined this game.

This did say something, but it doesn't really matter anymore.

how do people figure that POP/PUI is the one making the big $ off of single cards purchased on the secondary market, i.e. ebay?

Hmm...nice [R]Visitor...I see there ARE people out there who understand where people like us are coming from....

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

While I wouldn't like to see Pokemon go out, the point is that PUI still needs a customer basis to spend the money on their cards and people who don't have anymore money after trying to get back into the game are simply screwed here.

This is going to be an interesting season come 07-08. More original decks now, I hope.

At least mentor and adventurer will still be around. Mentor is a lifesaver for setup.

aade8: Read SD Mom's post. The single card prices are fueled by outside forces, not Nintendo! They put their cards in 9/10 card packs and sell them for the same price per set. Luck of the draw determines if "you" (general you) gets a pack worth 20-50 bucks or 1.50!

Just remember (in no particular order), the game was doomed when Dunsparce was rotated out. The game was doomed when Steven's Advice was rotated out. The game was doomed when Blastoise ex was rotated out. The game was doomed when Pidgeot was rotated out. The game was doomed when Rocket's Admin was rotated out. The game was doomed when Delcatty was rotated out. The game was doomed when...

DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!11!11one!!!

I'm not trying to dismiss the concerns of folks who shelled out money for the Holon Engine. But we do not ever take the secondary market into consideration when making these decisions. There's no reason for us to. We're concerned about the tournament environment, not what the going rate for Holon Transceiver is on eBay.

In my personal (non-POP employee) opinion, the Holon Engine has a strangle hold on the Modified format. It is stifling creativity, and killing the pace of games. Removing it (or at least most of it) from the environment is a good thing, and all should rejoice about its impending demise.

Cool.
This is about when I got fully into it.
Now I am very happy.
A new format means decks that can't be built, but it also means decks that can't be battled against.

Yeah, this is all else I have to say...
STOP POSTING ABOUT THE NEXT FRIKIN' FORMAT!!!

the thing about it is like Add38 was mentioning you guys could have let us know before hand that this was going to be the case. now a lot of new players have spent a lot of money on their nats decks just to give those cards up a month later, way to really try to bring new players in POP:rolleyes:

Thanks M_Liesik. It's always good to hear why decisions were made.

Any reason why Legend Maker was rotated out? I'm feeling part of it was because of it's release date before DS in Japan (and in the US they decided to release it after DS).

NOOOOO!!!!!!! No more Transceivers:mad:! I expected LM-On at worst, but HP -On:nonono:. Oh well, we've got the rest of the season to play our old favorites.

Ah....decision like this are like hurricanes and tornados...you never know when they are going to come and you just pick up tha pieces after they've gone.

Life will continue in Pokemon land...new things will appear and we will not be able to live without them next rotation.

Thanks for the early heads up guys!!!

Clay
