Hey folks thought it was time to update you on what is happening with Legendary Collection.

It is due out in late May.

It will have four individual oversized foil cards (one in every booster box) that will have a Pokémon on them and a list of what is in the set on the other side. These cards will be about 3" x 5". These cards will be on the inside of the box. One per box! We call these "Box Toppers"

It will have A reverse holo foil card in almost every pack. Each card in the set will have this treatment. Meaning you can get a foil Bill and a non-foil Bill.

There will also be a regular foil teatment for the Rare holo cards as well. These will occur in the same one in three ratio as before...remember this is over the whole print run so your results may vary a little.

What this means is it will be possible to get a regular holo Charizard and a reverse holo Charizard in one pack!

This set is a reprint of cards we thought needed to be put back into the modified environment...and should make for a good sealed/draft environment.

Two 61 card PCD's will release about one month after this product releases.

I will confirm the identity of six of these cards now.

1. Base set Charizard
2. Base set Venusaur
3. Rockets Dark Blastoise
4. Base set Alakazam
5. Rockets Dark Vaporeon
6. Base set Zapdos

Oh and Bill. Seven.

Oh cool! And of course, the underevos will have to come out as well, if they're to be play/draftable.

I.E. Kadabra, Dark Wartortle, Bulbasaur...etc.

Dark Vaporeon, eh? Facinating. This looks very promising. 61 cards? Odd. [Big Grin]

Could the PCDs be 61 cards because they will also have one of the "box topper" oversized set list cards in them? DMTM?

That was my guess: That one of the cards was non-functional.

That sad thing about this is the most of the players wont be able to get all four unless we want to buy boxes of reprinted cards that us players that have been playing for awhile have. Also all the hobbie shops will be openning their boxes and selling this cards for a chunk of change. Which doesnt seem fair also. [Frown] [Frown] [Frown]

This sounds like a very promising set, I feel that this will breathe new life into the modified format, by introducing cards that were previously disallowed in Modified tournament play.

This should open the door for more diversity in decks and such, which as we all know, this game desperatly needs.

Thanks for the update DMTM, I am really looking forward to this set.

Heh, box toppers. It's like the SWCCG box toppers they used to have in each box ('cept those were actually playable cards and all.). Heh, now I see WOTC is doing the same. Probably a gimmick so WOTC can get peeps to buy these reprints of old cards. [Big Grin] Oh well, I'm a sucker. I'll buy the PCDs if they contain oversized cards (so I can stick 'em in my binder..."ooooh, shiny."

Face it. Raindance is broken, especially once Rocket's Zapdos drops out of the picture, and especially if Pokémon Breeder is in this set. I'm sure there are many similarly situated cards.

Yeah, if you look at it, in Standard there have been cards that have progressively made 'Dance suck. Mass RSA hurt it, then Rocket's Zapdos hurt it, Lass all but killed it thanks to Cleffa. In MMF, there would be nothing to stop it, and you'd be staring down a Blastoise popping for 60 and possibly other big bad Water things.

Nick. They will have both treatments. A regular Holo and a Reverse Holo. Edit. I see holo's will only be holo's. But there will be two types of holo rares.

So you could get a Regular holo Zard in a pack as well as a reverse holo...although the probability of that is...mind boggling!

So DMTM, I have a question. Will LC come in 1-st Editions? [Big Grin] [Wink] How many theme decks are there? And will it have like 75 random card decks like in the first set of a Magic Type 2 block? (ie MM, Invasion, Oddessy)

So why not release Blastoise and also Rocket's Zapdos? Neither would be extremely broken. We saw Modified. Rocket's Zapdos wasn't a broken card. And Blastoise wouldn't have been if Rocket's Zapdos was released. That would have allowed Ampharos to be played.

I'm really glad to see D. Vaporeon in the list.

Over the last year a single card (GATR) has ruled the modified format, much to the detriment of the environment. Even though Gatr had a weakness (grass) there still wasn't a good way to beat is consistently.

In the new modified I'm afraid that Fire may take the role of the card that was dominant in the environment. D. Vaporeon can really go a long way toward stopping that. Since the Big Fire guys are weak to water and discard a lot of energy a water pokemon that forces more discarding will be powerful. And then there's the darkness bonus.

Could that have been on the mind of the selection committee? Nah.......

Here is my question for DMTM. We know that this will have reprints in the set. We also know the bill is back, so will we see the return of Comp. search, item finder, and oak? I know there has been some talk about it, so is it yes or no?

Interesting, It appears that this set will really balance things out. I find Amphy/Zappy as a nice deck idea, zappy covers Amphys weakness, serves as a back-up hitter and can be powerd by Amphy, and works well with metal energy. Actually, each one of those cards could easily have an archtype made around them.
